When it was pointed out that said player is injured and likely out for the entire season, Bob McAdoo said, "Since when does this franchise ever make the right decision? It traded me and Moses Malone in one season."

AP (SEATTLE)- In a pre-draft press conference today, Sonics GM Hoyo de Monterrey introduced his new Special Consultant to the General Manager to the media. HDM was seated between Sonics Head Coach Tom Heinsohn and a metallic trash can, dented in three places. The lid of the can was slightly ajar, but HDM seemed rather undisturbed.

"I'm excited about the draft," said HDM. "We've evaluated a number of players and have identified potential targets for our purposes."

"Yes, that is a trash can next to me," added the Sonics GM.

When pressed for further information on the reason for the trash can, HDM indicated his new Special Consultant to the GM needed a housing stipend. Sonics brass recently returned from a scouting trip in Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Amager, Denmark, and picked up their front office addition on the way.

At that point, the can rumbled a bit, and the lid flew off.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the new Special Consultant to the General Manager of the Seattle Supersonics is none other then Steve Weinman!"
