Not worried about Vince, those 35 foot three pointers with 16 seconds on the shot clock never go in anyways.

Jameer
Vince
Hedo
Rashard
Howard

That's a lot of fire power. I think Vince would be reinvigorated being on a contender.

Yeah, Vince is pretty much the perfect player for their lineup.  He doesn't help the defense much, but he can shoot from the perimeter and can get to the basket.

Like I said when I predicted the Magic going after him, he's the slasher that they desperately need in the half court set.

You predicted they'd trade for Vince if Hedo left. Vince- Hedo and Lee isn't as scary. Probably worse. If they keep Hedo, then they are scary.

Quote
I'm going to predict that if the Magic can't sign Turk this offseason they will trade their $16 Million dollars worth of expiring contracts (Tony Battie, Rafer Alston, JJ Redick, Anthony Johnson) and bring in Carter

This is true and Hedo IMO is all but gone if this trade goes down. Then you can give me props. Deal?  ;)

Definitely interesting to see if Hedo stays or not.

They'll definitely have close to the most stacked starting 5 in the NBA if it's Nelson-Carter-Hedo-Lewis-Howard but Carter is their replacement for Hedo then they'll be worse.

There's no way they would be able to keep Hedo if this went down. Their starting lineup would be due for about 67 million. No way do the Orlando Magic go that far into the luxury tax.

There's still only one basketball.

I'm going to assume Hedo is not coming back. I know he is a big part. Once jameer return as their starting PG, Hedo won't be needed. Hedo is technically a 6'10 PG, his services won't be needed.

True enough, but that's 5 all-star level talents in the starting lineup, and Howard is only getting better.  Carter is also an upgrade in terms of shooting ability over Pietrus and Lee.

I think Hedo+Lee is a lot better than Carter and Pietrus, though, so if they can't hold onto Hedo then they'll be worse.

Vince still can't guard a chair and has some of the worst shot selection in the NBA.  I like Pietrus and Lee only taking them when they're open and knowing that they are always the 5th option.  It works for that team.

VC is not the solution. He is not stopping Kobe, Lebron, Ray, Pierce, or anyone. I think VC is a replacement for Hedo. This is what I think they're looking at.

PG:Nelson
SG:VC/Pietrus
SF:Pietrus/VC
PF:Lewis
C:Howard

They're not clearing up room to sign Hedo, more like unloading Alston(malcontent), and Battie so they can resign GORTAT. watch, if it goes down, then Hedo ends up in Detroit or Portland.

Thats probably their best scenario. Hedo is looking to cash in on his performance. They can divide that salary that Hedo would get among 2-3 players Gortat being one of them.

Now, if Hedo is in Portland I'd be scared of that team.

Hinrich / Rodriguez / Bayless
Roy / Fernandez
Turkoglu / Outlaw / Batum
Aldridge / Frye
Przbylla / Oden

Pretty [dang] good.

Marc Spears is saying both sides have agreed to the trade:

http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/

Spears is saying it's Vince for Alston, Lee, and Battie. ESPN's original post included Ryan Anderson in the deal. Curious to see if he's included; can't see why he would be.

Orlando management is on the record as stating they will go above the luxury tax to keep Hedo. Basically they are adding VC and subtracting Courtney Lee from their starting lineup. With a healthy Jameer Nelson, Orlando will be tough to beat.

Shoring up our bench is now the most important job for DA. We need Grant Hill and either Dice or Birdman. I think it would be agood idea to resign Marbury as well.
