Not worried about it. Still only one basketball. 

And the Vince Carter thing won't work unless they keep Hedo.  Hedo is the facilitator.

Yeah this could go one of two ways depending on if the Magic can hold onto Hedo. 

a) the Magic get worse but not substantially worse
b) the Magic are scary good

They also will need to get a backup C if they can't hold onto Gortat.

Or they could move Jameer. His value is still very high & an all-star. Hedo is the better Point Guard, but not shooter.

I also think this signals a shift for ORL --- i think they let Hedo walk and they match on Gortat.  Without Battie, they need at least ONE backup at the 4/5 position.

Yeah, I don't get why they included Anderson in the deal.

Meanwhile, ORL has only 8 guys under contract for next season, assuming Anthony Johnson doesn't opt out:

Nelson / AJ
Carter / Redick
Pietrus
Lewis / Anderson
Howard

How are they going to resign Hedo and Gortat, and fill out the remaining roster slots?

I think NJ is going to try to make a play for LeBron in 2010.  NJ has the some good pieces with devin harris and brook lopez along with a low cap number.

It's all about clearing cap room.  Courtney Lee isn't a bad prospect to get in return, either.

My thoughts.

Hedu made 6,864,200 last year.  They were already right @ the cap and were going to have to go over to keep hedu already.

VC made 14,724,125.  This already puts orlando over the cap by a good portion.  Essentially Orlando is stuck and hoping Hedu would actually sign for something like 5 mil a yr and a short contract.  This is because VC contract only goes up from here.

Hedu will get offers of more yrs and money somewhere else.  Plus this doesnt help there team.  There is one ball.

Personally I think this is a dumb move.  Your Losing Gortat, Lee, Battie, Alston, and more than likely Hedu.  So your starting Lineup is Dwight, Rashard, VC, Jameer and whoever @ the other forward maybe pietrus.  But who is on this bench?

Plus they have 67 million to just there new big three...i dunno i see it not helping. no bench screwed in the future....
