Hrm.  Wow.  That would make them an even deadlier shooting team, though that seems impossible.

I'm not sure if this makes them favorites to win the ECF, but I guess we'll see.

The pressure is building for Danny Ainge to have a great off-season...the Celtics are gonna be third fiddle in the Eastern Conference if we don't add some significant pieces, at least on the bench.

Now its on Espn.com's headlines

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4287197

"The New Jersey Nets are in serious talks with the Magic about a deal that will send Vince Carter to Orlando for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee, two league sources told ESPN.com.

The talks have reached a point that a deal could be done by the end of the day Thursday, according to sources.
"

Danny has got some work to do. Andy Katz is about to be on espnnews, he will have some rumors.

Is this a sign that they're willing to go way over the luxury tax, or does this suggest that they're willing to let Hedu walk?

Regardless, I hope we're not in for another off-season where our prime competitors all make major moves, while we sit on our hands and go backward.

I hope not. Orlando is going to the falls, if this happens

Jameer
Vince
Hedo
Rashard
Howard

That's a lot of fire power. I think Vince would be reinvigorated being on a contender.

Don't worry. We'll bring in Robert Swift  ;)

Yeah, Vince is pretty much the perfect player for their lineup.  He doesn't help the defense much, but he can shoot from the perimeter and can get to the basket.

If this happens will be the lone contender not doing anything.  Everyone else is grabbing former all-stars and we just bite our thumbs.

Does this mean Turkoglu isn't coming back to Orlando?  If he does come back, they'd be pretty stacked.  If not, I don't think this improves them all that much.

Like I said when I predicted the Magic going after him, he's the slasher that they desperately need in the half court set.

Wow. Five guys who play at an All-Star level. This is going to be scary. VC is the perfect (perfect in this instance meaining most available) slashing wing to completement their long range shooters.

I called it:

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=28524.msg496053#msg496053

That you did.  TP.

I am very worried...the Spurs are better, the Cavs are better, and now the Magic are probably going to be better, assuming they keep Hedo.  What are we going to do?

Even if we improve our bench, I'm not that confident we'll be good enough to compete....

You predicted they'd trade for Vince if Hedo left. Vince- Hedo and Lee isn't as scary. Probably worse. If they keep Hedo, then they are scary.
