  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Rondo is good but I don't think he is $10M good unless he proves he can shoot 15, 18, 20 footer (whatever the magic distance is).  Without first proving that over the course of a full season, I wouldn't pay him $10M.  I don't think he will get more than this as a RA even if he does shoot well this coming season.  I say wait, hope he does develop a shooting touch, and then lock him up while we still have the RA status to work with.

Are you joking? Sure he doesn't have the best shot in the world, but it is getting better and he has actually hit some pretty important jumpers in the past (like in the Bulls series). This kid has court vision and awareness like no other player in the league. I know he is not yet a superstar, but he proved he can take over a game/series when the team is missing their best player. I don't know how much better he is going to get, but the potential is there...and if he remains exactly how he is now, he is still a VERY good player worthy of a $10 mill/year contract. He is a true point guard and the offense runs so much more smoothly with him out there...
