Max was just on WEEI and said he talked to Rondo about his contract. He asked Rondo if he would take 50 MIL for 5 years and Rondo said yes. That seems like a pretty fair salary for him.

I never trust anything Max says, but if Rondo is only looking for 5 years, $50 million, I say get it done.  The starting salary would be around $8 million or so in the first year, and I think that's fair.

Do it. At the end of it, Rondo will be entering his prime. That's a perfect time to start looking for a max contract.

Yes, do it.  That's a bargain.  Plus, if he continues to be "uncoachable," he will be very attractive to other teams in a trade.

I don't buy all the "Rondo is an egomaniac talk." He seems like a great kid to me. If this is all Rondo wants, and I really need to emphasize all, then DA needs to lock Rondo up right now, because this is a very fair deal, if not a bargain. Our problem is that Wyc doesn't want to pay up, evidenced by last years penny pinching and subsequent second round exit.
