My theory on why Cleveland didn't make any moves at the trading deadline was that Ferry wouldn't throw in any picks or prospects along with Wally's deal to make a trade happen, and most other GMs wouldn't make such a blatant salary dump deal. Well, looks like he found one that would with Wallace's contract.
I defended the first Shaq trade for Phoenix, and I know Kerr's under a lot of pressure to blow up the team and shed salary, but there's no way he couldn't've done better than this. It's another slap in the face for Suns fans.
Cleveland may be better, but don't forget how injury prone Shaq was the last year and a half with Miami. Phoenix's training staff is maybe the best in the league for older players, and they still sat him for back-to-backs most of the year. He's due for a big dropoff and it wouldn't surprise me if this was the year. But anyone who says this didn't make Cleveland better is nuts.
