"he's made one good move, and that was when kg was GIVEN to him by his roomate kevin mchale."
Sounds very similar to how angry a lot of Celtics fan will be if Rondo is traded, the difference is because we're C's fans we give Danny the benefit of the doubt.
Just like how mad you where when he traded Al Jefferson!

Yeah, that's a pretty ridiculous statement.  First, we paid a heavy price for KG.  Second, Ainge also made a very good trade to get Ray, and his draft picks have been spectacular overall.  I mean, if Ainge doesn't draft Big Al and Rondo, we don't win a championship.

More importantly, if Ainge doesn't make a bold trade of Raef and the #7 pick for Ratliff and Telfair, we never get Garnett.

I think anyone who says that Ainge was just lucky is completely ignoring the fact that he did a tremendous job of putting his team in a position to pull the trigger on the KG trade when the opportunity presented itself.

Not to mention that when KG rejected the trade first proposed he went out and got Ray Allen, while maintaining the core assets to get KG.

yeah, any time a fan base is split on a trade (i remember a lot of "ray is too old to give up #5 and delonte for" and "al is a young star, kg gives us too short a window" sentiments) it's not a gift. gasol was a gift, there was no way to argue it was a bad trade for l.a.

To be fair, Minny did trade an Iron man all-timer for a very talented PF who has played 82 games once in 5 years.

Eh...  they traded an aging big man who wanted out of town for a power forward who averaged 23 and 11 last year, who garnered all-star consideration, and who has the best post moves in the entire NBA.

Additionally, they got their starting point guard (for now, at least), their third-leading scorer, and two first rounders.

I don't really see the need to play devil's advocate here.  Both teams got a good deal that served their needs at the time.

We obviously got the better of the deal, but it is clearly not as lopsided as the Lakers for Gasol Deal. If there was a BAG job, it was gift rapping a top five center for a poo poo platter of things. Seriously, the Boston hating has GOT TO STOP!
Ainge drafts well.

Lazy media.

Gasol to the Lakers was lopsided.

Jefferson to the Spurs is lopsided.

The Shaq trade is lopsided.

But the media will not talk about those the same way they do the KG deal.  If Jefferson was on a better team he would've been an all star last year.
