can I get a recap?

I'm told that Ainge is being pretty open and honest about Rondo's issues - saying that he was fined more than once last year for being late

On Draft Night: "Looking like a very, very boring night for us".

That reiterates what he said at the press conference yesterday.

Spoke highly of Evans, Curry, and Flynn of guys who can make impact immediately next year.

Sees Rubio more as a project.

Thought about adding McHale to the staff but didn't think it was likely.  Figures McHale will go into TV and there is no room for him on the staff right now.

Loves the Spurs acquisition of Jefferson.  Mentioned that SA got rid of their bad contracts and got a great player.

so Jeff I want to know your thoughts. If it is true Rondo was fined a few times last year , do you think he has worn out his welcome? Will he be traded ? Yes or No?

someone told me that he talked about doing a sign-and-trade next offseason - any details on that?

I don't know if being late a few times is going to make him traded.  What I find telling is that Ainge would come out with this information now.  It almost feels like he's prepping us for a trade.

This information only feeds into the various reports about his attitude issues and lends credibility to the same rumors that he was trying to dispel 24 hours ago.  What changed?

what my ears heard:

-said saving cap space for summer of 2010 a "tough call" since they will likely want to sign FAs this summer that will eat up that space.  Said a sign and trade for one of those guys a more likely scenario, but concluded that most will end up staying with existing teams.

-gave a a somewhat critical assessment of Rondo saying he doesn't play consistently hard enough for Ainge's liking, has to think more about the team than himself as a PG, be less emotional, and his not currently a max guy.  But they "love him".
