if it's just conley/gay for rondo/filler, no dice....i like gay, nice scorer, can shoot the 3 a bit, but he's one of those types who doesn't like to play D.  if we get a backup swingman, he needs to play D, bottom line...

Why would anyone in their right mind want to trade rondo? This talk just makes me so upset and irritated...Rondo doesnt only have the potential to become but has shown that he can be an elite point guard in the league. Why trade a nightly triple double threat for a bench guy? Just absurd to me. If danny makes this trade the celts are no longer my team to root for.

I would prefer NOT to trade Rondo. However, it appears that things are not as peachy as many fans would like to believe.

Secondly, Rondo is NOT a triple double guy with a healthy KG, PP and RA in the lineup.

No NBA PG that shoots 64 percent from the FT line and doesn't have a consistent mid-range jumpshot is an elite NBA PG.

Rondo is a nice player, and can be an excellent player, but not if he isn't willing to be coached by Doc and willing to be a better teammate, and work on the things like his jumpshot and FT shooting.

Thats why I would be for this trade.

i think a deal is already in place. look at the front of celticsblog. whether it's deserved or not he's getting bashed to hell. ainge knows how the media can be  and he went ahead today and again bashed him. bashed is a strong word but i don't think ainge needed to add anything. there's been enough said already.
i love danny ainge. i'm waaaaay over the top in ainge's corner with anything. for danny to say all this today(in my admittedly biased opinion) he's bracing people for a trade he knows is going down.  i'm not a fan of this much bad talk(even though it sounds absolutely deserving)about our own guy to the media. enough already. it sounds to me like he ain't our guy anymore.
if he IS gone, i don't know how i feel about it. at least it has'nt been boring.

If it is in place, why not make the move now? There is no reason to wait till the draft is done.

issue is this: rondo has been hammered now by ainge today and rumored that doc has said he is uncoachable...if there is nothing to this then why all the public comments? is it to humble him? every national site is saying there are major issues behind the scenes with rondo....if he stays then there are fences to be mended

You'll be surprised how easily fences can be mended by a more consistent jumper and consistency of effort.

Which, I suspect, are management's goals behind this entire discussion.

Why is Rondo the scapegoat for effort when Pierce consistently gives less effort than Rondo?

So, Spears is reporting that an Eastern Conference Executive told him that the latest rumor is Rondo/Scal to Memphis for Conley/Gay? Not that he's spoken to anyone from either team, but that he's hearing a rumor. The same rumor started on RealGM by some kid from CA who said he saw on a 'local sports show' at about 7:30 last night.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on this one.

That would be awful...what trade are we gonna make with NY anyway?  They don't have anyone worth trading for.

Most said the same thing about Ray Allen before he came to Boston. Gay can play D, he just hasn't been "coached up" to play D...not yet anyways.

I said this a while back, but, this whole situation reminds me of the Brian Shaw situation many years back.

If they can deal Rondo for this package, then it may well be worth it.

None of us know what goes on in the huddle or locker.  Rondo could be a miserable son-of-a-gun, but we don't know for sure.

All I know, is that if it is affecting the chemistry at all on the team, then they should try to move him.

Gay/Conley for Rondo, Et Al seems like a fair package.
