Sure this may not make alot of people happy, but I think its without a doubt the best scenario that we have heard so far.  Or is there another scenario that people like better?(besides keeping them)
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I wouldn't do this trade but trading smaller pieces to get Prince in here as a 6th man is something I would consider.

Although I'm not a big fan of Rips contract, I agree that this is the best idea outside of keeping the starters together. This does however eliminate any 2010 possibilities, that is, unless Pierce Opts out and we let him walk.

Before I thought expiring contracts could be enough but now I'm doubting it...

Sorry, but the way I look at it, where's there's smoke there's fire. Danny and the C's have a good 5 year history of denying everything when it comes to trades and always reassuring the fan base that they have the teams best intentions in place.

There's just way too many of these Rondo/Ray rumors out there, some coming from some credible sources, to not believe that Danny is shopping his backcourt big time, whether it be solo or as a package.

I would do this trade but only if the C's already have an established PG in mind and ready to sign on July 1st to start in front of Stuckey.

Also, I think Tony and Scal are history.

I agree, I guess it just has to be one of the "In Danny we Trust" situations.  If not I think its a pretty fair assesment that if they deal away Rondo and Ray and it doesnt work out his job is definitly going to be on the line.

The histrionics surrounding these rumors are bordering on the absurd.

Ray has a huge expiring contract and Rondo's value will never be higher. This trade makes our team better going forward. We lose little in our starting backcourt, our defense improves, and our depth dramatically improves.

...and Detroit said "no".

detroit is crazy to pass a deal like this~im glad they did but it bothers me a lil for them to think that our players cant help them, no value

also i dont see why we would trade our stars like that anyway, rondo is getting better and ray hopefully knows what he needs to improve on this season

the bench showed alotta heart. we fo sho got what it takes. dont trade nobody, this team is fine like it is.

if it aint broke....

Exactly.  Keep the best starting 5 in the NBA together.  People can talk all they want about efficiency ratings and age, but you can't argue with results.  Even with KG missing 25 games, this team still won a very impressive 62 games.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
