According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Boston offered Rondo-Allen for Rip-Prince-Stuckey.....

...and Detroit said "no".

While I'm not at all a fan of Stuckey's game, this would probably be a "fair value trade", but I'm not saying I would want to do it. But I do like the idea of Prince as the sixth man.

not a big fan of any of these guys personally....definite downgrade for next year IMO and not much future upside either.

Interesting, I had Ray, BBD S&T, Tony Allen for Rip, Kwame Brown and #15 was something I mentioned a few days ago on the main page when talking about deals. Saying we may be looking into a deal that hasn't even been mentioned yet anywhere.

Could it be possible that danny's shopping rondo around just to see how much interest he'd generate once he becomes a free agent, and at the same time have an idea on how much to offer him for a contract extension? Is it possible that we die hard celtics fans are valuing rondo way too much as compared to how other teams/GMs actually see him? Just thinking out loud here guys...any thoughts?

  • Rondo = Good
I have a feeling Ainge is just doing a bit of the "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks."

Eh trading Rondo and Ray for a good PG prospect and two starting caliber NBA players on reasonable contracts is something that makes sense for the Celtics.

No way the Pistons would do this though, can't say I'm all that sad about it either.

Great trade for Detroit.

Not a fan of it for the C's. Losing Rondo without getting an All-NBA talent in return isn't a proposition I'm interested in.

I will hate my life if Celtics end up with the awfulness that is Stuckey.

I dislike Rip Hamilton, so it would take some time for me to accept the idea of seeing him in green...

That said, I think that Prince would be awesome off the bench. It seems Danny keeps trying to do something  ;)

(666 post and speaking of one devil, Detroit ;D )

Interesting rumor, but I'd have a hard time swallowing a Rondo deal to an Eastern team.  I realize we get a little younger with Stuckey and Prince ... but I probably don't do that deal.  IMO, Rondo's upside is too high.

This is a no-brainer deal for the Celtics as far as I'm concerned. Detroit won't do it though.

Good deal. IF the Pistons could throw in about five first round picks ::)

You just don't trade a pg as good as Rondo(unless you get Chris Paul or possibly Derrick Rose+ back).

Prince is ok- invisible at times though. Hamilton would be tough to root for. Stuckey?, I haven't seen him enough to comment.
If they're all so great, why did the Pistons suck so badly this year? Can't be all Iverson's fault. And yes, I realize Dumars tanked the season.

And don't Prince and Hamilton have an awful lot of miles on those skinny little legs?

No thanks.

Eh, I don't really like this trade.  I don't care for Rip and he is definitely not clutch like Ray.  Prince is a nice backup at SF, but I'm not sold on Stuckey and would definitely rather have Rondo.

what he said!
I live close enough to uconn that i've watched many many games and I hate Hamilton.  I'm sure Calhoun shakes his head at how he can be so cheap yet be a whiner (way worse than reggie miller ever thought)
