This is probably the toughest question this off-season. Most Probably believe, its is best to let him walk. But if the price is right, why not Re-sign him? I believe it depends on who we add first this off-season. I proposed a trade for Darko & to sign Mcdyess.

If that happens and we still have financial flexibility, It might be our best interest to resign him. I see BBD as the opposite of Rondo. His ceiling is limited unlike Rondo. But one thing is guaranteed BBD always bring his A-game every game, and works tirelessly to improve his game. We have seen the fruit of his labor last season, and I'm going to assume he'll bring even more this season.

Frontcourt:

Pierce/Barnes(?)/Walker
KG/BBD/Mcdyess
Perk/Darko/BBD

Probably would be the best frontcourt in the NBA. It gives us a lot of options & plenty of talent. We can limit KG's minutes. BBD already knows our system & played great covering for KG. We can incorporate Mcdyess slowly & keep him fresh for the playoffs. Darko will literally be our darkhorse. We know he is a rotation player who has size & some talent. He just comes in for Perk & defends. We have plenty of firepower, all he needs to do is defend. He will turn 24 later this month. Darko still has a future, how bright of a future? Don't know. But for now, he is a good backup center.

Let him walk

I'd be happy to keep him at a contract worth at or under $2.5 million. That's my cut off point. Unless of course ownership is willing to pay a massive luxury tax bill, because then I couldn't care less what Davis is paid.

It all depends on what sort of trades we can muster, else we should resign him (unless it's quite a ridiculous contract), with him being a capable bench player and a good trade asset that can be used in a year when we have a some really good expiring contracts.

If antonio mcdyess is coming through the door  ;D
bye bye baby
Davis is a sub on most nba teams and has limits that we've all gone over.  If we have to keep an undersized pf I'd let the $$ come into it and go with Powe.

What happens if there is an injury? I hoping nothing happens. If that left knee starts bothering KG again, what are we going to do? Start Mcdyess than what?

Haven't we learned anything from the patriots or the red sox. Stockpiling talent is always a plus. I rather have an overflow of good players than none.

Please don't cut Glenn Davis short. He is a very good player.

I would like to see the ' most would want him to walk ' stats.

I would guess it's just the opposite aside from the site that is.  Keep him at a reasonable cost.  2.5 ugh I doubt that's very reasonable.

yea 2.5 seems low. I'd match anything up to about 3.5-4 over 2-3 years. that's about it.

I think it depends upon how much we're giving him.  Conceptually, I'd absolutely want him back.  However, that presumes a price tag of around $3 million per season.  The closer he goes towards $4 - $5 million, the less I want him.

so your going 4+ is the walking point as well?

that's what I'm looking at. I'd rather keep him, but anything more than 4 million for a 7th or 8th spot on your bench is starting to stretch it.

I would probably go to at least 4 million a year.  Perks making 4.5 correct that seems about right then.

He's not that good that we should overpay him.  A short pf who can hit the jumper, he hustles and can give us minutes against some centers.  If he wants to sign affordably (which it doesn't sound like) great.
Powe is rehabbing, put him 15 feet away and start shooting jumpers.  Yes its great to stockpile talent but we have a luxury tax to take into account.  There are better players than davis that can be gotten.  Also we need $$ to go after c/pf backup with is 6'9" or taller and a backup to PP.

Its not personal Glenn. Its all business.

That sounds about right. How about a little hometown cooking? 3.5 million for 3 years. I hope you stay Glenn.

Did someone say ' cooking ' you've peaked my interest but, you are low balling me for 500 large?  And to be nice I would rather watch my 8 year old nephew struggle with jumpers than watch Powe.  Shooting jumpers isn't for everyone.

Eh...  BBD's shot was pretty putrid at the beginning of last season, too.  The same can be said of Big Al and Perk when they were coming up through.  Now, all of those players have semi-reliable jump shots (with some better than others).  Why couldn't Powe add that aspect to his game?
