Bos

Send: TA, Gabe, Scal
Rec: Darko

Send: Darko
Rec: TA, Gabe, Scal

2009/2010 Roster

Rondo/Marbury(?)/House
Ray/House/JR
PP/Barnes(?)/Walker
KG/Dic(?)/Powe
Perk/Darko

Memphis gets 2 young players. TA athletic slasher, and Gabe good defender & 3point shooter. We might even add that last 2nd round pick. Hopefully Scal gets bought out and returns.

Boston gets a big body 7footer who can defend. And open up roster room for more improvement. Than we go sign Matt Barnes & Antonio McDyess. I put marbury there just as a last option for a backup PG. I'm going to assume Rondo will be a 40+ minute player, if Marbury chooses to leave.

Not the best trade but we get to keep our starters put. And finally solve that backup center situation.

I'll pass. I want more than a career failure for what few assets we have.

  • Rondo = Good
Yeah, we can trade for a better backup center than that.

I can't defend Darko. But how much better can you get? He is a good defender. He offensive game is limited, but he can hit the boards for some easy points. And has a nice left hook shot. His primary focus is to defend.

Good trade -- I think Memphis only do it if they select Thabeet in the draft, otherwise I think they'd rather hold onto Darko.

I'd do it.  An extra body to put on Howard.  More useful than anyone we'd be sending out.  He's expiring, too, so it's not like it's a big financial commitment.

Don't see why Memphis would do this.  They're not exactly rich in big men and it doesn't save them much money, unless filling 3 roster spots for the price of 1 floats their boat in what's sure to be a losing cause for the 09 season.

If this trade goes down, Memphis will have no one to back Marc Gasol. They have couple of options. They can either draft one which is likely in Hasheem Thabeet, or select a project at the # 27 overall pick, or resign Hamed Haddadi. They have more than one option to replace Darko.

This trade would help tremendously. He can be a solid contributor off the bench. Play D, block some shots, and grab some boards. And on offense, he can be our gortat. Set some picks, offense rebound, putbacks, and use that left hook shot.

If he's an expiring contract though, I'll take him because me makes 7 million a year.

we need a solid bigman, not a "potential" or "unproven" one.  didnt we learn from the POB experiment?!

Darko is proven. We already know what he is and what he can contribute. He can block some shots and play some defense. He is a bust for a #2 pick picked before Melo, Bosh, Wade, etc, but he would still be good off the bench.

I would take him.

Darko is HORRIBLE. Send Memphis is known for lopsided trades, lets see if we could get Marc Gasol for Tony Allen or Scalabrine.

Can't stop, Rondo!

If he had been drafted in the second round, I doubt we would see such harsh comments. Didn't he even start (until getting injured) over Gasol when Memphis wanted more defense?

He seemed to be playing decently until he got injured in December. Memphis actually went 2-16 while he was injured. He's practically their MVP!
