Trade R. Allen for S. Jackson, Azubuike, Turiaf

Rondo/House
Azubuike/S. Jackson
Pierce/S. Jackson
Garnett/Powe
Perkins/Turiaf

This trade looks crazy. We'd be trading the best player in the deal and giving up financial flexibility in 2010 for a knucklehead and two role players.  But maybe it's crazy like a fox.

With KG and Pierce, I think the culture in Boston is strong enough to get Jackson to not be a ballhog/crazy. It would provide much more depth on the wings and scoring off the bench.  Azubuike would be a nice, relatively athletic role player who can shoot the three and finish on the break.  It gets another solid big who can bang with Dwight and provide Perk insurance.  Plus Jackson is a strong, intense defender who might even be crazy enough to get in LeBron's head during a playoff series.

I think all the pieces in this deal fit together nicely. Does it make any sense?

I love it but I actually don't think GS does it.

I love Stephen Jackson, or JAX, or Jack-O, or whatever he's called these days.

He was a hot-head but he became a veteran leader for the Warriors and played an incredible amount of minutes on a nightly basis last season.

I seem to recall he had a hand injury which he later got surgery on.....somebody please clarify.

Anyways, I'd like to dismiss the concept that he's still a hothead.

KG = hothead security.

Taking over Maggette's contract is a little nutty, but I believe it is a way we could actually improve.

Ray for SJax, Azuibuke and Turiaf is a very good deal for the Celtics. Fills two of our needs at backup PG and bench big and SJax isn't a huge dropoff from Ray.

I'm not sure what to make of this. I love Jacks, and think Azubuike would be a very good first wing off the bench, but I dislike Turiaf and his contract.

Not sure whether this is better than Ray or not. Jackson's efficiency is dodgy, but his all-round play and defensive ability are big draws. Difficult call.

I think this is an absolutely brilliant trade for the Warriors. Although I do not think they'll do it, I don't think they're interested in salary dump. They should be though.

I wouldn't do it.   I dislike Turiaf's contract and don't see how this improves us overall.   I realize that Ray is expiring and we should investigate, but UNLESS a deal sets us up for years ... I'd rather keep him as a perfect complement to Pierce and Garnett.

There is "no need" to trade Ray UNLESS we get better for a longer period time.  Getting spare parts from GS doesn't do that.

I don't know about that -- Chris Mullin is out and there is a new GM.  It is unclear what the new GM will do, but if he is at all like Danny Ainge, he will start by blowing things up.  They are not going to win the finals any time soon, but they have a good young core.  The smart thing would be to move the older guys...

I would try to squeeze the warriors for more.  I'd really like to get anthony randolph in this deal.  Maybe we take Crawford and Stephen Jackson, and we get anthony randoplh and Belinelli too.  Give them a future #1.

Why the hell would we lose all financial potential for that package?  Seriously, no GM in his right mind would take both Crawford and Turiaf for an expiring contract as valuable as Ray Allen.

I'd try to keep Ray and acquire Maggette.  If Golden State is looking for flexibility, we can offer it to them in the form of expiring contracts (Scal/Allen) and younger players (Giddens/Pruitt).

Corey Maggette, Jamal Crawford, and Brandan Wright for Ray Allen, JR Giddens, and Gabe Pruitt?

Not necessarily a great deal for Allen, but Maggette/Crawford could help replace a portion of his production and secure a kid with talent in Wright.
