How does it work for Memphis? They give up the number 2 pick for an upgrade from Gasol to Perk, Bill Walker, and a future late 1st round pick? Doesn't make any sense for them. If they don't give Gasol, maybe it makes sense. (Just because they wouldn't need two centers doesn't mean they'd just give one away.)

They get an upgrade in the post with out giving away much, it also makes their bench younger with Walker who could also allow them to play small and shift Gay over to the 4 for some of the game.

In regards to the "LA part" I read that they wanted to trade their pick for the number #3 and try and get ride of baron davis because of his bad contract. I really thought Memphis had the #3 my bad...

The value isn't great for Miami, either.  The value would be solid if Wade demanded a trade, but that's the only circumstance under which this would make sense for them.
