  • Rondo = Good
Rondo
Scal
Tony Allen

for

#4 (Rubio)
Nocionni
Jason Thompson

:)

Only way the Kings trade away #4 is if they can save a lot of money and still stay decent this year - meaning Ray would have to be involved.

Probably too rich of a price, but does anyone think the Knicks would deal the #8 pick for the privilege of getting rid of Jeffries for these expiring contracts.  That would give them even more money in the summer of 2010 for their expected Free Agent bonanza.  Jeffries could spell Pierce at the 3 and at #8 the Celts could look for a Best Player Available type to help the bench (a true pg prospect to back up Rondo or maybe Jordan Hill if he was still available at 8).

Stevenson would be a nice option to backup Paul and Ray.  If we could put together a deal to pry both he and Blatche away, we'd really be sitting pretty.

I'd be willing to part with Scal, Tony, Bill Walker and a future pick for
Deshawn Stevenson and Andre Blatche.

Such a move would allow lots of flexibility with the MLE.

I don't know much about Blatche... but Stevenson would be nice to get. And can we trade Giddens instead of Billy?  ;)

If we get rid of Scal and TA i want a role player that can stick around. Not Posey whose locked up for another 3 years. How come we're so quick to trade Ray becuase he's old but we continut to look over the fact that Posey's contract is WAY TOO LONG.

How about Scal and TA for...

Nobody.

That's right.  Nobody.  I think there's more value in just letting their contracts expire (and keeping them w/the team this upcoming season, using them when necessary), then there is in acquiring some other team's selection of crap...the money we save in letting their deals expire is then used in the summer of '10 to help offset Rondo's extension, Ray's new deal, an MLE signing (this summer or next, or both), our '10 first round pick, and possibly Baby's new deal this summer, among other things.
Folly. Persist.

If we could get into the top 10, Jonny Flynn would the guy to go after.  My opinion is that he could end up being the best player in this whole draft.

TP to the OP for putting the list together.

One (potentially) intriguing thought is the idea that if the Cs use Ray to trade into the top 10 of the draft, then potentially that pick could be used in a swap together with TA and Scal for a player like Barbosa.

That is, Ray gets traded for filler + #5 from Washington, as Chad Ford suggests, and then the Cs turn around and trade #5+TA+Scals to PHX for Barbosa+#14 (Phoenix's pick).

Barbosa would fill the hole created by Ray's trade, and hopefully the "filler" from Washington would be decent enough to be an upgrade over TA and Scals so the bench would be strengthened.

If the Kings keep the pick, I imagine they'll use it on a swingman like Tyreke Evans. Possibly a point, but probably a swingman. Fransico Garcia would look perfect in Green.
