I'm sure I am not the only fisherman on CelticsBlog. I though it would be nice to start a new topic this off season focusing on fishing. I think CelticsBlog members should take pictures of the fish they catch and tell some information such as the bait they used and the weight of the fish. If they want they could even mention the place where the fish was caught, although most fishermen don't like to give that information away. I'll start it off with my catch of the day today:

A 2.25 lb. Largemouth Bass...
Caught on a night crawler at about 1:00 today, on Lackey Dam in Northbridge, MA.

I hope people enjoy the thread and I hope to see a lot of big fish on here. Later everyone!

Nice looking large mouth man!

mucho TP for you man, i was going to start one of these last week but i didn't know if anyone would be up for it.

I'll start posting my pics (also, feel free to post what your fishing and where your killing it)

Lately for us down on the cape, A football head jig  with a chigger craw has been absolute murder for us. we are just throwing them in close to the shore and jigging them back through cover slowly. you usually get nailed right as it taps some deadfall.

They haven't really been up for spinner baits yet, ive had some limited success on crank baits, but the Jig and trailer combo has been to good to untie.

Two weekends ago we had 6-7 large mouths a piece out of the duck pond in sandwich on them, biggest was a 4 pounder.

P.s whats a good site to host pics?

I'm actually going out fishing on the 15th with some buddies down on the Cape.  I love ocean fishing.  Can't wait.

I don't fish often, but I do enjoy it.  I have a bit of a problem with seasickness.

Last couple times out I caught a yummy keeper bass, a sandshark (which was a bugger to get off the hook), and a bluefish (nasty creatures).

Word is the fishies be biting like crazy around here this season(Cape Cod).

Wrong quote Dons

think you meant this one:

Would that pond happen to be Shawme Pond in Sandwich? I stayed in Sandwich last Summer for a week and fished at that pond every day. Every time I casted out I got a bass a pound and a half and up. That was the best pond I've ever fished. Local people were telling me that they've caught them as big as 6 and 7 pounds in there with shiners and baby sunfish. My dad hooked a Snapping Turtle of about 20 - 30 pounds. It was quite the week. I'm trying to get one of my friends to go down there with me to fish for a day this summer... I won't be staying down there again this year.  :(

I use Image Shack to host my pictures. Resize it to fit forums and then choose Hotlink for forums (1) as the hosting tool.

I'll be going back out at about 5 or 6 for that later part of the day fishing... possibly for carp on the Blackstone River (They get up to the 25 pound range in there) Hopefully I'll have a bigger fish to show you guys tonight.

that is indeed the pond, i grew up about 15 minutes from it. We've fished it every summer for 15 years.

Biggest we've pulled out of there and gotten on a scale is 6.2, 2 or 3 years ago.

We estimate the biggest we ever got was about 5 years ago, my buddy pete got a monster night fishing near that grist mill.

That pond has been extra bonkers this year, they rebuilt the earthworks that lets the upper pond drain into the lower pond, and to do it they had to clear out the whole old beaver [dang] up near heritage. Apparently they drained the upper pond  bone dry, as a result, all the fish from the upper pond are in the lower pond (the "duck pond" the upper pond is a private pond)

If you ever head down there on a weekend, let me know, be happy to try to get you a spot in one of our two old crappy boats , or at the very least shore fish it with you.

if you can get down I'd fish it this summer, its amazing since it has double the fish it normally holds. A word of warning though, the secret is out and its tough to shore fish, just because everyone is out doing it.

Fight for your spot if you get one :)

Felt a pang late one afternoon
I was fishin' off Muir Beach
With Larry LeLonde
Grabbed a tuna salad sandwich
And I started to chew
Pretty soon Ler's yellin
Fish on. Fish on

I was just a little pup
And it was derby day
Was dad and me and Darrell
Out in San Pablo bay
Taco flavored Doritos
And my orange life vest
Dad caught a hundred pound sturgeon
On twenty-pound test
Now he fought that fish for an hour
And a half
Darrell'd say Jump ya sonsab*tch!
And he grabbed for the gaff
When we got him in the boat
He measured six feet long
I was so danged impressed I had
To write a song called
Fish on

T'was a bright and sunny day
It was me and Todd Huth
Fishin' shark and stingray
Out of Bohuas Lagoon
Well hey, hey, hey I'll be screwed,
Blued and tatooed
Looks like I got me one of them fish on
Fish on.

This is some good stuff if you have a few minutes.  All shot just off Chatham.  I wasn't involved with but the guy driving the boat fixes my computer!

Excellent video. 1000 pound tuna... that was fun to watch.
