George Carlin - RIP

Favorite comedian of all time. Even though he'd be considered "before my time", I thank HBO for showing all his stand up from the 60's on into his last days on the stage. His humor was offensive, but just right out hilarious.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Zach Galifianakis is my #1.  Seen him many times and it's always outstanding.  He works the crowd over pretty well

George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Ron White, Robin Williams all have to be in the discussion.  I don't think I could rank them though - they're all different brands of humor, and all hilarious.

I've seen some good picks.  Rather than rehash those, I'll add one that I haven't seen listed (unless I missed it).  Bill Hicks.  That guy was absolutely hilarious.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Sam Kinnison always, and I mean always made me want to buy a gun and shoot him in the head. That voice where he will just be talking THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HE'S SCREAMING IN A HIGH PITCHED VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

God its getting me riled up right now.

Rodney Dangerfield is the best one line joke teller I've ever heard IMO..

I tell you, with my doctor, I don't get no respect.  I told him, "I've swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills."  He told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.

A girl called me once late at night, and she said "Come over, nobody's home." I went over. Nobody was home.

I made a toast to my wife on our tenth year anniversary. I raised the glass and said "to the best woman a man's ever had". Two waiters and the Maitre d' joined me!

Yeah I love me some Rodney.

Most of the superstars of comedy have been mentioned so I'll throw in some that you all may or may not know.

Eliza Scheshlinger (sp?) who won the last, "Last Comic Standing" and is so much better in person. She does a bit about guys who put cologne on their crotch before a date that is absolutely the funniest bit I've ever seen.

Ralphie May (many have seen him on Comedy Central). Again, in person much, much better. His bet bit is an histerical take on women who are relunctent to perform oral sex on their lovers.

Finally, a 3rd mostly unknown that you might be seeing in the near future on Comedy Central: Melanie Maloy.  http://www.melaniemaloy.com/ There are clips on her website that you might find funny.

IP, I thought the same of Sam Kinnison, but I've been listening to a lot more comedy on XM radio lately, and have been hearing him again.  Maybe it's just that I'm older now, but I definitely find a lot more humor in the stuff in between the screaming and yelling.

But yeh, Rodney was awesome.  I used to listen to "No Respect" over and over.
Yup

Are you listening on Raw Dog? That is what I miss most about my sirius radio subscription.
