Hi y'all,

Who is your favorite stand-up comedian?

I like me some Jim Gaffigan (hot pocket)!

Come to think of it I haven't seen lots of stand up comedy.

I'd say I loved Chris Rock's stuff about the civil war between blacks.

I liked the snipits of stuff I've seen of Steve Martin.

Pablo Francisco is the funniest guy I've ever seen.

For a top ten, two through nine are debatable.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

It is really hard to pick just one.  The person that probably had me laughing the hardest was that Jim Gaffigan hot pocket sketch.

People I have seen live

Dave Chappelle:  Right after he left Comedy Central and gave a nice comedic story about why he left (you had to make the references yourself).  He really interacted with the crowd.

Lewis Black:  Just like he is on TV, nothing different, but still funny nonetheless.

Dave Attell:  He was really really funny, way funnier than I've seen of him on TV with his shows and such but he was definitely great.

Mitch Hedberg:  He was his own totally different act.  He came out was wasted, and just seemed to make up jokes on the spot about the area the weather that was happening that day (blizzard).

Dane Cook:  Liked him way better in 2003-2004, saw him when he was first beginning at some colleges he was great.  Saw his HBO special at the Garden a few years later, and that's when the disappointment began, since then he's been pretty awful.

I've seen a bunch of the guys from Last Comic Standing, but nothing really stood out.

I also really like what I've seen from Danial Tosh on TV from the past few years.

Also like Robin Williams, but as I said it's really hard to just pick one favorite comic.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

That is the guy I couldn't remember. Him and Mike Birbilia. Both very funny.

I saw Nick at the Lisner Auditorium here in DC and he was fantastic, and the best part was after the show was over he was out at the bars in Georgetown area drinking with everybody.

  • Welcome to the Loud House
Demetri Martin anyone? Or the Amazing Johnathan?

And it is a crime that no one mentioned the late great George Carlin.

IMO
Chappelle, Pryor, and Carlin in the top tier.

Dane Cook at the bottom.
