Bosh has made it no secret he is leaving Toronto at the end of the year.  I'm not sure if Cleveland really has enough to make it worth Toronto's while, but Z or Wallace for the dollars and Hickson, West, this years first and a future first is a decent package especially if they take back Banks contract.

Put Bosh and Lebron together and look out.

Really? I'd heard rumors, but nothing concrete as far as Bosh.

Amare's recent comments about reuniting with D'Antoni in New York must give Phoenix some pause. I wonder if they go fire sale this summer. If so, could a package of Wallace, Hickson, and picks be enough for the Cavs to rent Amare for a season?

I think they will be shooting higher than Randolph.

They should really try to revisit a trade for Shaq.  If they trade Wallace and Pavlovic for Shaq, it saves Phoenix close to $4 million, and much more if Wallace does retire.  Then they can use the MLE, and maybe a trade of Andy (or sign and trade if he does opt out) to bring in a couple more good players, and go for the championship next year, while still maintaining the cap space to sign Lebron and another star in the summer of 2010.

Would Z then move to PF alongside Shaq? I can't see either of them being able to guard opposing PFs.

I think Z would become an expensive backup.  Honestly, neither he or Shaq should really be playing more than 25-30 minutes tops anyways at this point in their career.  They can share the minutes.  Or if anyone would give back any value for him, they could use him as trade bait.

Andy and big Z come back b/c no one will offer them more money

Wally gone

Joe Smith, who knows. Maybe he lands in Boston...wouldn't be the worst thing.

I would say look for the Cavs to look hard at trade possibilities with Ben Wallace's expiring contract. He indicated he may want to retire, but that's 14 million someone else can take on to clear cap space for ironically, Lebron (amongst others).

AV will get better offers than the single year left on his deal.

they re in bad shape. varejao has a 6.5 mil player option ilgauskas has a 10 million player option.

Both those options will be accepted faster than you can say "ineffective overpaid foreign scrub"
You're forgetting how good of a season AV had based on a bad series. Not only that I don't think anyone would have expected AV to do well playing against Howard.

Why wouldn't he take the option and get a longer term deal with more overall money. He wanted more than the Cavs offered and only took the Bobcats offer sheet because he could get out of it and become unrestricted.

He'll leave the 6.5 on the table to get a bigger overall deal.

For the immediate future, they'll ask Mo Williams to keep his freakin' trap shut.  Boo yeah.

I still don't see what is wrong with saying you think you'll win a [dang] playoff series. Especially when he doesn't bash the other team in any way.

Cavs made a big mistake not trading Wally for some more help. They have way more decisions to make than the C's this off season.

I didn't say his guarantee was what I was laughing at.  His declaration that they were the best team in all of basketball is what makes me crack up.  Win something first for the love.

Who is going to give Varejao more than 6.2 millions dollars next season? Thats more than the MLE, and its a 1 year deal. Who is going to invest more than a year of +MLE money in a guy who has still not proven he can score the ball on the reg?

Was there something wrong with me as a Celtics fan confidently declaring they were the best team in basketball heading into last year's playoffs then?

You're looking at the one year pay out when AV will be looking at the total value of the contract.

He'll opt out if for nothing else to force Cleveland to give him a longer term deal.

possibly, but not a lot of teams are going to gamble their future to get Bosh without strong assurances he is going to re-sign with them.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Amare would be a great addition for the cavs...then all they would need is a decent bench.

they could get much more for Amare, even in a firesale. Hell, when Kobe loses to the magic soon, maybe the cavs can get him in a firesale once he makes comments about how his teammates let him down.
