West is a useful role player. It would have been nice to palm Tony Allen off on Seattle in that deal. But the affection for Gomes - and to some extent, the affection for the group that lost 58 games - escapes me. I just don't see Gomes as a useful contributor on a team making a title run. He's the Gabe Pruitt of the 3s - not really good at anything. I like his basketball intelligence - if Tony Allen could think the game like Ryan Gomes, he'd be an All-Star. But physically, Ryan's challenged.

I think a backup SF is very necessary but I think the money that needs to be spent this off season needs to be spent to upgrade the frontcourt. I also think we aren't getting any of the decent SFs available in trade by offering some combination of or scrub expirings. Big Baby, in a sign and trade, will need to go to get a good SF and then we will have to fill 2-3 positions up front with just the MLE and the LLE. If Sheed signs anywhere t's at the MLE or above so if he is what everyone here wants he is going to cost big. That would mean getting another big with vet mins or the LLE.I'd explore the Nocioni trade with Baby included and throw in Tony Allen. Keep Scal in any trade where Baby would go out to the Kings.
I noticed in Chad Ford's Mock that he has Utah taking Tyler Hansboro. If this is the case, what are the chances of trading for Kirilenko and what would we have to give up? Looking at the $, I don't believe it could happen.

I think now that GH is gone, Danny will focus hard on making a trade for another good bench guy. Wyc seems to have the purse strings open as much as possible within the rules. Seems like Ainge will get something good done. We don't need but one more good bench guy, preferably a 2/3. It may mean giving up BBD on a sign and trade, but would be worth it if we can swing it for a legit guy (like Posey or Mike Miller).
