Rashard is a 4 who likes to shoot threes. Just because he plays like a 3 "should" doesn't mean he isn't a legit four.

Rashard is 230 lbs...less than Paul Peirce...and only plays 4 for one reason - b/c Hedu plays the 3. He was a 3 in Seattle.

I would love to play Paul at the 4, but then who guards Hedu if scal is out?

Lewis has a very good post game. Pierce will struggle a lot to contain Lewis in the blocks; let alone Walker, who would be eaten alive.

I'd rather have Ray or Tony Allen guarding Turk.

What? Ray can barely guard Ben Gordon, and TA can only play lock down D against stupid players that aren't smart enough to just throw upfakes at him.
Both defend better than Bill Walker though. Which is the reason Bill won't get minutes.

KG is only 250. Weight doesn't determine your position. He played the 3 in Seattle, but he can play either position. I think he's best suited at the 4 personally. If only that it forces a mismatch more frequently.

I don't see anyway to compare KG to Lewis. KG is 7 feet tall, an athletic freak, and was probably stronger at age 16 than Lewis is now.

Generating mis-matches is the one upside to having a player out of position.
Both are perimeter 4s who shoot a lot of jumpers. Both have a good post game. They're more similar than you're giving Rashard credit for.

KG just does everything Rashard does better, except for shoot 3s.

Wow, Lewis and KG Similar??...really??? - Totally different players, other than they can both make a jumper..(Marty Conlon was a 4 who could make jumpers too!)..Lewis can handle the ball much better (since he is a 3) and KG is 100x times the player on defense, and a far better rebounder (since he is a 4).

They are very different players. One is borderline all-star who got overpaid, the other is a HoF. Top 5 at his position ever.

But their games are rather similar when Rashard plays at the 4.

But honestly since you seem locked into your position that if Scal is out that Bill Walker should be our 4 off the bench I'm not sure how much weight I can give your opinion on this matter.

This is real easy. So far we have seen Hedo Turkoglu guarded by primarily 2 players, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. Also, we have seen tons of three guard offenses that have had Ray, House or Marbury, and Rondo all at the same time.

So given that Doc refuses to play bench players that he does not trust in the post season, a little thing I like calling TAPP (Tony Allen Playoff Principle) substitution, we can be pretty much assured that if Scal is out tonight, the following will happen:

1.) He will stress intelligence and pray that Perk and Baby, especially, don't get in foul trouble.

2.) If one does his first option is going to be Pierce at the 4, Ray at the 3, and a combo of Marbury or House with Rondo in the backcourt with Pierce on Lewis and Ray on the Turk.

3.) If Perk or Baby or both get in foul trouble, Moore will be used to guard Gortat, Howard or Lewis, but only as a last resort.

4.) We will not see for any reason, other than a blowout of serious foul trouble with the entire backcourt, Tony Allen, Gabe Pruitt, or Bill Walker. He has no trust in these players to make smart decisions, play good smart defense, or to be an offensive threat of any kind. It's about who Doc trusts at this time of year and the TAPP substitution is in order.

Walker will not see the floor. It really is that easy.

Remember Bill Walker is only 6'6...Rashard Lewis can shoot over him as easily as he can BBD, and as easily as he can Scalabrine. Without KG, and with Mikki Moore being a TERRIBLE team defender on the court a majority of the time, we don't have answer for Rashard, no matter who is playing.

Turk is tall for Ray.

I disagree with your claim that Ray can barely guard Gordon. Gordon had more bad games than good games against us. Gordon is the kind of player that is so overconfident and aggressive, that he will get shots off and fans just cross their fingers. When Gordon has a few good plays, people remember those and forget all the horrible attempts he forced and missed while covered.

Just to add, remember a some of those shots during his "hot" games, they were with guys draped all over him, or weird shots within the offense, or like three steps back from the line, basically shots most guys don't try. Bottom line is that when Ben Gordon is on, he's on. But, when he's off, he's off. There's no real line with him, there's only good or bad.

I  hope not.

I want to see a KG that can be effective and not just an on the court insperation.

Best move for tonight might be to fly Scal to Cleveland while he is still symptomatic.
