Take a lesson from Tiger, when he hits someone with his ball (not on purpose or with intent just like this case) he signs a glove and gives it to them.  Be a man, do the right thing BBD.

It would be a nice gesture and very civil for Big Baby to apologize.  However, it is not mandatory in my books.  The kid was too close to the court and looking the other way.  I don't find Big Baby at fault whatsoever, but being the Bigger Man (figuratively and literally, he could make our society more harmonious by simply saying sorry).

For the father, on the other hand, what kind of example are you setting for your kid?  Do you have Jacoby and Meyers on retainer?  Did you scream, "It's not my fault I defaulted on my mortgage, it was those pesky, conniving mortgage brokers that made me take out a loan I had no way of paying!!!?"

You are a disgrace.  Period.

and then little Billy doesn't get an A on his English test and Daddy calls the teacher and demands to know why his precious child could possibly not have received a perfect score

then he calls the art teacher and demands his son get his work of art displayed on the bulletin board, boy were his feelings hurt when he got a C with a note saying, you could do better

Let's just be glad the kid in the front row wasn't Miguel Antonio Augotein Domingue the best middle school player in the country.  If it was, Big Baby probably would have ended up with a concussion and been out the rest of the playoffs after running into that brick wall of human.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

It is amazing to me how we wear such green colored glasses on this site.

Look at it for what it is.  Yes, it was inadvertent.  Yes, there was no malice or intent.  Yes, his dad is making a big deal out of nothing. But yes, he should publicly apologize.  A fan is a fan, a kid is a kid, and there's just no place for that.

Baby didn't do anything intentionally wrong, but the kid could've gotten hurt.  Not apologizing is inexcusable.

Baby will probably apologize, but he did nothing wrong, and the dad clearly exaggerated the incident by a ridiculous amount.

He didn't hit him too hard since the kid is still on his feet!

The kid was standing on the "sidelines", inches from the court.  Sidelines are also part of the court, the "out of bounds" area and it is where players stand when balls are inbounded. Players run down the sidelines to check into the game during games. Players run out of bounds, dive for balls and fall on the sidelines all the time and run back in.  That's why the area is clear and there are no seats there.  It is a part of the court where there are still lots of activities and things going on so you gotta be careful and alert if you are sititng near the area.

The kid was standing on the sidelines with his dad and looking back into the stands, not paying attention. His seat was at least 3-4 feet from where he was standing while the game was in process.  It wasn't intentional contact but Davis was just overwhelmed in the moment, understandably so, and trying to get back to celebrate with his teamates.  That being said, now that it is an issue, thanks to dear old dad, Baby should apologize to the kid for bumping into him.

Sorry your dad was too cheap to buy you a hat that fit, but instead bought won two sizes too big, so he wouldn't have to buy another in a yr or two when your noggin grows. :P

Spoken from experience. My mom always bought my sneakers a size or two larger. lol.

Pretty much the way I feel about the whole incident.

The Kid needed to "sell" it more. He should ask Hedo Flopaloo how. The kid should at least windup on the floor if his dad's gonna cry about it.
