If you think Perk will/should get suspended you obviously didn't watch the clip, or you just don't know the rules.
You might be overstating your case here.

The question will be if he hit the guy on purpose or not.

it's over, schedule KG's surgery

No offense, but I can't stand this attitude.

yea well, I can't stand the garbage of a job the refs did either, but we both have to live with it

I think we'll win gm 4 and win the series in 6 or 7.
Yup, well Mclovin says "If we lose game 4 it is done."

I think that Perkins will be suspended though he doesn't deserve to.

I'm mad with this story because it was not intentional, and it happened on a basketball play. Pretty much like the Kobe play, the difference being that it wasn't a battle for a rebound but the setting of a screen (and that it was not intentional). Howard must have did this at least three times in this game and wasn't called for it.

But I think I'm realistic when I say that Perkins will get suspended. The NBA will want to make a statement, saying "The C's don't benefit from non suspensions", especially after the whole Rondo story and the physical plays in the Houston/LA series. And if Perkins is suspended, game 4 is a loss...

Yup plus what also doesnt help the case, is that IMO Perk actually looked and saw Petrius (and looked away as if he didnt see him). Im sure he'll be suspended it was in the throat and did look a bit ugly.

Perk made me nervous last night.  I didn't think he had his best game in the smarts department.  He looked flustered.  Understandable, but he must remember that Dwight Howard can go off and have a monster game and the Celtics can still win.  Didn't happen last night, but keep your head big guy and focus on the bigger picture...

It's amusing to hear you Bean Town fans justify your players cheap, thug fouls when it's your team getting screwed by the leaque.  Perkins foul was "cowardly" and a lot worse than the foul that moved House's headband.  Give me a break!!! A suspension is definitely in order.  And how about the other cheap fouls like when big fat baby intentionally lands on top of Hedo after he get fouled on a drive.  And the bogus 5th foul on Dwight Howard when the give driving by him hooks him around the leg with his arm and Howard gets called for the foul.  Face it guys, the Celts can't beat the Magic this year without help from the refs.

come on bumpkin...come stronger than that.....we are missing our best player and top guy off the bench and still beat you by 20 in game 2...

Perkins should be fined, not suspended.

Howard's lucky the refs like him. He ran over Rondo in the first half and they called a foul on Scal who was about 5 feet away.

It is what it is. I am much more concerned about this team's total inability to focus in back-to-back games. We couldn't win - or frankly, be any more than briefly competitive - with him.

The NBA needs to quit breeding a game of panzies. I mean, come on, what is a little slap to the head? What is a forearm to the chest? Basketball is a physical game and it should remain that way. Players with excellent speed and jumping ability have an advantage, why take away the advantage that a big strong physical player has over the terribly athletic players.

Don't get me wrong, I think a player who takes a legitimate swing at another player should be fined severly wether it is a suspension or maybe even more is fine but good hard physical play is part of the game. I wonder if players actually get any acting lessons as part of training camp? If they don't they sure should. You play all season to compete in the playoffs and one good acting job can completely sway a whole series. I bet if Robert Parish and Laimbeer played today and Parish decked him as he did Parish wouold get suspended for the whole playoffs.

It looks to me as if Perk was looking to hit Pietrus in the chest with his forearm and he just forgot he wasn't playing D on Dwight and came in a little high.

I agree with Celtics17, basketball is a contact sport and people will get hit.  Players who actually throw blows at each other should be suspended but the NBA needs to loosen up a little bit.

Check out Howard's shove (uncalled) on Perkins on the possession before the Perkins' elbow, I've uploaded it here.

Ding ding ding we have a winner, that's exactly what happened.

I think, unfortunately, that we can't rely on Stu Jackson to see this.  Even if he does see that that is what happened, he may feel obligated to suspend Perkins simply because there's so much frenzy between teams with all these suspensions that if somebody gets off free and they aren't a huge star like Kobe it'll seem like preferential treatment, and people have already said that Rondo not getting suspended was preferential treatment for us.  So Perk might be unfairly suspended simply for "political" reasons, if you will.
