Can anyone explain why Gray (which really doesn't matter) and Tyrus Thomas aren't being suspended?! They were on the bench before the rumble started and as soon as the two started shoving/throwing they left the bench to get in the middle of it. None of the C's bench left by the way. I thought this was an automatic! You leave your bench in a scrum and you are suspended.

I know Aaron Gray was actually checked into the game, and I believe Ty Thomas was, too.  You can see the substitution pattern here:

http://espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=290430004&period=1

That is odd. I didn't think he had played the entire series, not that it really would have mattered. Thomas was the one I was pretty sure had already checked out. That WOULD have made a difference in game 7. I guess he must have been there unless it was some conspiracy by the NBA to doctor these so they wouldn't have to suspend him.  ;D

TP for the info!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
gray clearly left the bench..he was in warm-ups...

I don't think so.  See the video:

Gray is #34, running down the middle of the floor.

Did anyone notice Doc Rivers' reaction?

He initially moved away from the fracas while stomping on his foot.  It's like he's thinking ... "Oh My God ... there goes Rondo!"

I really don't care if Aaron Gray, Joel Grey, Linda Gray or one-armed Pete Gray left the Bulls bench, frankly.

The positive news is Rondo's going to get another chance in this series to play the way he should - aggressively and intelligently - and not like he did last night.
