Since there was no contact, I see Rondo's raised arm as a defensive measure to get Hinrich to back off.

I don't think he has to be suspended because he didn't trow an elbow to Hinrich, he just pushed him ,and the Flagrant 1 that he got is enough punishment for that action IMO. I think that much talk about the Miller action and the Hinrich one is not helping Rondo at all. I really think that in game 6 Rondo wasn't as aggressive as he was in the previous 5 games because he had all those things in mind and he wasn't focus. I hope he change his mind and play as hard as he used to do because we need him 100% in order to win game 7. Go Celtics!!

Absolutely no way Rondo should be suspended or Hinrich for that matter. Too much uncertainty on the play.

1. on the initial contact that started it, there is no way from the video to tell if Hinrich is holding Rondo and won't let go and so Rondo, irritated, hurls him off, which he has the right to do. Similarly you can't tell if Rondo is the one holding Hinrich...

2. Either way, Hinrich is the one who throw the first shove and actual hand to neck and face shove. Rondo retaliates like anyone would who just got shoved in the face. I see no comparison between Howard's elbow and Rondo's.

If anything, I would say you leave Rondo's penalty as stands and raise Hinrich's to also being a flagrant one. He has not right to shove his hands up into a player's face and neck. A chest shove yes, but not to the face...didn't KG get suspended for touching some guy's face earlier this season?

Play on...

So, is the consensus that the flagrant 1 was called for him flinging Hinrich into the scorers table, and that that is not likely to be upgraded to a flagrant 2.  And, therefore the only risk is the elbow?

Or, are people concerned that the flinging action will be upgraded?  Because that's what I fear.

Also, I checked the time of the last announcement of no further action, and it was posted on this sight at 4:30 pm EST.  We should hear something soon, and if not, is that a good sign or not?  The suspense is killing me!

You can see Hinrich's reaction to being dragged just as his teammate secures the rebound. He starts backpedaling really fast and is trying not to fall over.

I think the concensus is (and correct me if I'm wrong) that whether you think Rondo was trying to elbow Hinrich or made no attempt to elbow Hinrich nobody knows what the league will do.

I'm mentally exhausted thinking about this, so I can't imagine the amount of stuff that must be going through his head right now. At least the home crowd will help him out. What I'm concerned about is that he likes to prove people wrong - how does he go about proving to people that he's not a dirty player? I hope it's not by being soft.

I think the last thing on anybody's mind on that floor on Saturday, Bulls or Celtics, is proving they're not a dirty player.

This talk of Rondo being a punk is ridiculous. This is getting out of hand. So there was some shoving and "hold me back" nonsense? Nothing to get a suspension for. The league has gotten too soft. Watch this clip I post for something to get suspended for (at the 3:55 mark. This Rondo/Hinrich thing was nothing.

Posting videos from 20 years ago are irrelavant. It's a different league today. The Horry-Nash parallel cannot be ignored.

I wasn't saying whether or not he will get a suspension. I know the league is different and I mentioned that (much softer). do you hear Doug Collins going crazy on the video over the Parish punch and calling him a punk?  I think its ridiculous to call Rondo a punk b/c of this tussle if you want to call it that. If he gets suspended it will be lame.

I don't see any talk about a suspension on ESPN or anywhere else. I haven't heard that it's under review either. I don't expect any suspension. There is more of a chance that KG plays than that Rondo doesn't. So, what if KG does play and Rondo does not? What do you think of our chances?

It's my understanding that all flagrant fouls are reviewed.  That doesn't mean the NBA will take any action, but I guarantee the play is being looked at.

Since there was no contact, I see Rondo's raised arm as a defensive measure to get Hinrich to back off.

I disagree that it was only a defensive measure.  Here's the best (and fairest) look at it I've seen:

Hinrich gets Rondo in the neck area (which should be a suspension in its own right) and Rondo takes an apparent elbow jab at him which does not appear to just be a defensive posture to me.

He certainly didn't make contact, but to me, this looks like something more than just trying to defend himself.
