here's something i have not heard yet. maybe because many would think it's ridiculous but.. does anyone think rondo's conscience could be hurt by all this? i promise i'm no hater. i love rondo but if i purposely hit a guy in the head like that i would'nt be happy with myself. that's the big key though-intent.

I don't think Rondo was actually trying to hit him in the face.  The foul was intentional, but the actual contact was incidental.  This is why he wasn't suspended.  This time, he actually dragged Hinrich to the floor.

I think both players - Rondo and Hinrich - deserve to be suspended for the next game. I don't see how what Horry did two years ago was any worse than what Rondo did.

Of course, I'd rather the league let the players play, but it's not my rules.

I agree that under the current rules, both players should receive a suspension, but the rules suck.  This is playoff basketball.  They should be more lax on the suspensions during the playoffs, as tensions are higher.  There is no place for these types of plays during the regular season, but the playoffs are a completely different game.

What Rondo did was kind of similar to Pierce throwing down a defender (forget who) a few years back in a game six against Indiana.  Pierce was kicked out of the game but didn't get suspended for game 7 (not that it helped much).

This they need to be suspended talk is nonsense. When did the NBA become so soft? There was a hard box out by Hinrich, a little push by Rondo (which Hinrich acted out) and a shove by Hinrich. Rondo didn;t throw anyone in the scorer's table, elbow anyone, or throw a punch. A suspension would be RIDICULOUS.

I don't think anyone has said that they need to be suspended.  It's just that under the current rules, they may get suspended.

I'm not sure which channel you were watching but if you saw the view they had on TNT, Rondo clearly threw Hinrich into the scorer's table. There was little argument by Doc or Rondo for the Flagrant foul that was handed out. That was a frustration foul and I would be surprised if a suspension wasn't handed out. Personally I think the NBA has gotten soft but if they are going to be consistent it will result in a suspension.

I'm watching CSN the unbiased opinions of Tommy :)  Well better to have Rondo kicked out of this gm and win gm 7 in boston with him. Then to lose him for gm 1 at home in against Orlando. That gm at hm is huge. So if the refs watched the "fight" and didn't kick him out I think it would be Weak to have him miss gm 1

Haha, go to love Tommy. In all fairness to Tommy I saw both channels show replays and CSN didn't have the replay that TNT had. With that said, I'm with you, you definitely don't want to be with out Rondo for game 1 at home against Orlando. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the NBA sees the play the same as the refs. I just hope they don't use the "controversial" Brad Miller play in their decision making process.

He smoked him in the face and made no valid attempt at the ball. If that was the reg season and he wasn't a C it would be a clear cut suspension to anyone of sane mind. Playoff time, it shouldn't be, nowadays, wouldn't surprise me.

Now that Game 7 is official, I don't think there's any way Stern will suspend Rondo.  This series is just too classic to mess with.  3OTs! Ridiculous.

If you tack on a Rondo suspension - which is deserved, in my opinion - with the poor quality of his play tonight, that kid is going to have a VERY long summer.

It is deserved, based on the rules, but they need to leave this alone for the good of the game.  This is becoming the National Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. Association.  This series is a classic and if Stern ruins this he's a moron.

  • Rondo = Good
No way, not gonna happen.  Only reason it was a flagrant was because of last game, otherwise it would have been double technical.

If they suspend Rondo it would be atrocious.  Leave it at a flagrant 1 and be done with it.  The Bulls got their revenge for last game and now we all have to kill ourselves watching Game 7 in Boston.
