Nothing david does suprises me at this point, it just adds to my sadness about how he's running the game.

Stu Jackson actually makes the call, not Stern.

so brad miller blatantly goes to baby's head...gets ejected but then gets back....and now he whines about a hard foul? rondo was trying to get miller's arm and caught his face...hard foul? yes..

a few plays early henirich ripped perkins down from behind...made zero attempt for the ball and pulled him down around the neck...where is the crying on that?

Well, Hollinger gets it wrong, too:

Quote
If the foul had been called a flagrant one, on the other hand, Miller could have signed off for the night and let coach Vinny Del Negro choose any Chicago player as his replacement shooter. Almost assuredly, the fill-in would have been Ben Gordon, who shot 86.4 percent during the regular season and has made 85.9 percent of free throws in his career. Gordon would have given Chicago about a 75 percent probability of tying the game.

Wrong again.  I know it gets old hearing it, but it amazes me how many people who get paid to write about basketball for a living repeatedly post things that just aren't true.

Yup, I just emailed him about that exact point.  I'm sure a correction will be up ASAP  ::) And they wonder why the blogs are eating them alive without any access.

PS, Ketch you're an SOB in other threads but that was perfect and made me laugh out loud - TP for ya.

right, in the same way mussolni was in charge of italy during the axis years.

you think stu has a thought in his head that isn't cleared by the commish who put him in the office?

Of course the suspension is cleared by Stern, that is his job afterall. BUT it is Stu's job to come up with the punishments (which he does), not sign the decree and approve.

Take off the tin foil hats everyone, there is no freakin' conspiracy.

It was probably a flagrant foul?  It was probably also a moving screen on Miller to start the entire play.

I have a Flagrant Foul question- if Rondo had been assessed an F1 last night and Miller could not have shot the FT then Doc would have been able to choose who did, correct?  And with an F2 it would have been Vinny's choice?

Just watched the replay again and noticed something I hadn't noticed before. Rondo's hit caused Miller's shot to launch way up in the air. If Rondo doesn't get there to make that play, it looks like Perk blocks that shot. Perk gets his hand between the ball and the rim just as it leaves Miller's hand. It doesn't mean anything at this point, but I thought it was interesting...

No.  If it was a flagrant at all, Vinny could have chosen.  Since it was a regular personal foul, Doc would have chosen if Brad couldn't have taken the free throws.
