i believe that PP has been clutch....for a looong time, he got us to move up to #2, he is "The Truth"  no doubt, but sometimes he tries to do too much, I am not saying it is Doc's fault, but to just give the ball to PP up top and expect a straight out drive or shot isn't strategy, not with the talent we have...hey, we set a pick for Ray, it has to be more of a play...or something......but PP has been the Truth for us for a long time....

And how many games has he finished off at the line? Nobody remembers those ones. He's going to miss 1/4 of them, late game or not.
give me a game in the playoffs where he has hit clutch free throws to finish the game. I love the guy but when the pressure is on at the free throw line in the playoffs he almost always chokes...

Game 7  versus Cleveland.

Paul Pierce is the definition of clutch.. I'm not even going to say anything to back that statement. I dont think its needed on a celtics board

TP Paul is very clutch except at the line. He has always made long jumpers in clutch situations but misses from the line, but he also makes great plays for teammates in clutch situations no one can say he is not clutch

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Pierce is definitely clutch, just not from the free throw line.

I'll take him with the clock winding down on the last shot, but not at the line.

hes not clutch.

If he was clutch we would have swept them 4-0. he missed key ft's in game 1 and game 4

This choking with the game on the line goes back to 2002 in the series with New Jersey.

PP never makes 2 when his team needs him to

If we are taking about Ft's hes definitely not clutch.

In terms of having the ball in the waning seconds he is, but rondo should have found ray today instead of passing to pp

"Never"?  ::)

If anyone really believes he never makes 2 when needed, they know little about basketball. He has buried 2 needed FTs at the end of games plenty of times.

It is sad how the post quality on this forum plummets after losses. I wonder if we are seeing a lot of drunken posters.

I don't know about clutch, but one thing Paul Pierce is, is exhausted.

If ray doesnt miss that ft perk doesnt get the offesnive foul and we win by 1. Players miss ft all the time. Yes we could have won these games if he makes those, but the key thing to remember is that we shouldn't be relying on ft at the end of a game to beat a 7th seeded team. In this series it hasnt been one guy losing it for uis it has been mental lapses by the whole team in general.
Back to wanting Joe fired.
