I'm demoting Obese from homeless man's Antoine Walker to rich man's Brandon Hunter.

What year did Brandon Hunter average an 18/8 in the playoffs?

The year he made the playoffs, got to play all his minutes with 3 allstars and was force-fed 50 minutes and 20 open shots a night.

Brandon Hunter is not clutch like Big Baby.  BBD is a money player and a must re-sign.

4 year 12 million bucks offer deal can't come sooner
If he signs for that I would be thrilled.

I was less thrilled by getting one (1) defensive rebound in 53 minutes from our starting PF last night.  And the 4 TOs/1 assist -- including the agonizing TO late in the game right under the Bulls basket where all he had to do was pass the ball to Perk for an easy hoop, and instead he tried to create a shot for himself.  Has it seemed to anyone else that Baby's vaunted basketball IQ has taken a hit the more he's (the cynical explanation) seen a chance to up his contract value / (the charitable explanation) tried to do more to help the team win?

Who are the 3 all stars? I count Ray and Paul. You just want Baby to do poorly, so you can justify your irrational hate for him and your silly nickname Obese. He's doing well now and your grasping at straws. And if you didn't notice when they took out the awful Obese last night ::) at the end of the game and with a nice lead, we didn't exactly get better.

On the BBD travel, he should have shot. What I saw was the defender played off of him, knowing Perk was on the other side, so BBD became indecisive with all the empty space. He should have gone up for the shot, and he could have passed it if the defender came to him and left Perk.

Passing to Perk there would have been too much passing, since the defender could get to Perk more easily than he could get to BBD, and Perk takes time to go from catching the ball to shooting.

I'm with you on Obese over Tony.  I also prefer Scal over Mikki, but that doesn't make Scal any less crappy of a player.

3 all stars:  Ray, Paul... and Rondo is playing like Oscar Robertson.

I think Obese is a good rotation player.  That's about it.  We're getting the most we can out of him.  Some open shots, handful of rebounds... he finishes around the hoop sometimes... mediocre defender.    He's a replaceable player.

The first clutch moment, I remember, was against Detroit last year. Only a regular season game but very meaningful. Seems like he has hit a few final minute clutch jumpers since taking KGs place this year. As far as this years playoffs, the guy is gold from the charity stripe at the end of games. Right now, I prefer him there over Paul Pierce.

And no, he is not a great shot blocker, but does make some nice ones in key moments. I personally think he is a good rebounder but not great.I think his shooting is pretty darn good for his first year taking jumpers and will only improve. And yes, he is below average around the rim but has gotten better lately of carving some space for himself. :)

I got another clutch play to add to the list. ;)

If this kid improves as much in the next year as he has the last year, we will be lucky to have him.
I also think he has 15 to 20 pounds of baby fat that he can loose without loosing any strength.
I think with his quickness and 20 pounds leaner he will most certainly gain enough hops and finish stronger.
He isnt a shot blocker, but he does protect the rim well, he is afraid of no one.
Most of his blocks are dunk blocks, and with his strength he protects the rim well.
He clearly has a high bball IQ and sets more picks than anyone I have ever seen.
There for he must be able to hit the open 18 footer.
KGs game revolves around this very same ability to hit midrange jumpers.
I agree if he were 4 inches taller with his skills we would be talking about him being our future, be we can feel good about the progress he has made and the potential I think he has.
You must feel real good about yourself, Obease, did you come up with that all by your lonsome or did it take a whole lockerroom full of haters.
Anyway I hope he keeps working hard, and I hope we get to keep him.

He's been terrific and you can't ask more of a 3rd string big man.

he's gone from the outhouse to the penthouse, kid isn't a 3rd stringer no more... and remember when Powe was healthy, Baby tended to be ahead of him in the rotation, so he's a 2nd stringer on a title team, starter on some teams around the league I think at this point
