Am I the only one who doesn't want the Celtics to live and die with Obese jacking up 20 shots a night?

Well, that´s not Baby´s fault. As Bankshot said, Pierce, our first option, played very streaky. If he´s hot, there´s no need for 20 shots by Baby. If you look at the game thread, people were actually calling for more shots by BBD early in the game, because they thought he would pass up too many of them.

Baby has good games, and Baby has bad games, Not unusual for a second-year player. We should start with our criticism with Pierce, not Baby. Actually, I think it´s noone´s fault that we lost the game. All candidates who could play our scapegoat also had several moments in the game where they saved our butts, otherwise we could have lost way earlier.

I agree it's not the fault of Obese that he's been thrust into a situation where the Bulls are leaving him wide open to jack up uncontested shots... and that our team is being forced to rely on that.   That's not his fault.  Without KG, our savior, we don't have a lot of options.   That's no fault of Obese.   but it's not MIkki Moore's fault that he sucks, either.   It's not MIkki Moore's fault that he couldn't carry Joe Smith's jock... it's just an unfortunately set of circumstances that have thrust important minutes into the hands of some terrible basketball players.  Poor guys.  Bummer that they suck... it's going to make this a serious challenge.

If you need a scapegoat, go ahead.
It is obvious to me that the Baby haters are not open to logical argumentation when it comes to this topic. Mikki is a 12 year vet, Baby is a sophomore. Baby plays his first series as a starter, plays heavy minutes, and yes, he wasn´t good enough, offensively. Just like our Captain. Bummer that our captain sucks, eh? Oh wait, he doesn´t suck. He played too many minutes in the regulöar seaosn and doesn´t have a reliable backup. Oh what an unfortunate set of circumstances, eh?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Like playah said... Obese needs to get his fat ass on a treadmill so he can make some layups next year.

Baby's just sippin that sizzurp. He's a legit contributor, but not a starter. That hasn't changed since he got into the league. Probably won't. He's still doing better than most expected. Plus he's not as soft anymore. Dude's strong.

You only need to see the reference to Baby that he makes to know that he has a biased view.
I agree with your points however.

I'm demoting Obese from homeless man's Antoine Walker to rich man's Brandon Hunter.

Baby's play in the 1st 3 games set himself up for failure tonight in some ways - by overachieving, him playing at his normal or perhaps a bit below normal level coupled with having to play over 40 minutes makes him open to scrutiny.  I appreciate what he's done in the 1st games, and give him the mulligan; its not like we have anyone behind him to insert imo

It's like Rondo shooting jump shots.  The Bulls probably gameplan by saying, "Look... I know that Rondo has been knocking them down, but keep playing him like that... they aren't going to continue to fall" ...  It's that same thing with Obese.  The Bulls will happily live with him taking 20 shots a night.  THat means Ray and Pierce aren't the ones killing them.

I don't have ANY issues with the rest of BBD's game tonight. You just CAN'T call yourself an NBA quality big man when you can't put the ball in the basket when you are wide open directly under it. He wasn't getting his usual completely open shots that he was in the other games which is why I believe he was missing them, however those under the rim are inexcusable. PP may have missed his share of shots, however not wide open layups at the basket. He choked. Plain and simple. A guy wanting a big contract that has huge deficiencies like this can't do that. We should be up 3-1 right now and ready to close them out in Boston. Instead we have once again given them confidence and set our tired and injured team up for a 6-7 game slugfest. If we do manage to slip past them, which I think we still do, we are worse off for the next series, and dead by the time we meet the Cavs. THAT'S how big BBD's misses were.

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
So, Baby is terrible converting his close shots, is that it?

I think that might be it.

 ;D

But that's just one piece of the puzzle, along with Perkins fouling out, Pierce letting Gordon get by him for the first OT three and shooting poorly, the inability of our alleged defensive stopper to remember who he was supposed to be guarding, etc.

Game's lost. We're all tired. Let's move on to Game 5.

What year did Brandon Hunter average an 18/8 in the playoffs?

Like last night when he went 7-11 for 21 points and helped Rondo and Perk keep the Celtics in the game before PP eventually won it?  BBD had a bad game the other night, just like many other Celtics, but he's a darn good player for a sophomore and has done a pretty good job replacing KG.  Really can't ask for much more of BBD.

After what i saw last night even if he goes cold for the next two games i consider bbd legit.

bbd is a sure handed player , doesn't turn over the ball and his decision making skills are excellent. If he was 2 or 3 more inches taller no doubt a top three draft pick

Last night i was beyond impressed with his play and his desire to be the leader and carry us through droughts

4 year 12 million bucks offer deal can't come sooner

Glen Davis has certainly turned himself into a must sign.  To me, he is our new Posey.  Of course he doesn't play the same position, but he reminds me of Posey in that he's a guy whose stats don't tell how effective he can be and does all the little hustle things to help a team win.  He's going to be a great bench player for the Celtics.

Give this kid a 4 year deal, Danny. 8)

The year he made the playoffs, got to play all his minutes with 3 allstars and was force-fed 50 minutes and 20 open shots a night.
