Check everyone out on the main page freaking out over Garnett not playing these last 2 games.  I could have called this a week ago.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN that he's done for the year.  Let me declare right now, knowing I will get a bunch of comebacks from doubters saying I'm crazy, but I think that Ainge, Doc and the whole organization has been setting a smokescreen for a month or more now.

KG will be somewhere near 100%, even though swelling will probably occur post-games.  Leon will be the same way.  We sweep the first round and win in 6 in round 2.  We face the Cavs in the ECF and whether we win one of the first two or not, we win in 6.  Game 5 is where we unleash wrath for yesterday's nonsense.

Terrific spin, but I doubt you are correct. 

Common sense tells me that since the C's were in a dogfight for the #2 seed, there is no way they would have risked losing HCA in favor of a smokescreen.  Moreover, they could have (but chose not to) played KG for the final 5 minutes of the Orlando game and perhaps come out with a win rather than a 2 point loss, which would have all but clinched the #2 seed.  If they had done that and then put KG on the shelf, I could have been persuaded to buy your spin, but played out the way it did, I am not buying into 'smokescreen-gate'.  Excellent post though!

I wholeheartedly believe that Miami will beat Cleveland in the 2nd round and we won't get to see a 7 game series against them this year.

D Wade is just on a different level right now, and he will be anxious to take it to Lebron after losing out to him in the MVP voting.  The Heat have looked very balanced since the JO/SM trade, imho.

I think they can make it interesting for the Cavs, but there's no way the Heat beat the Cavs. And I'm as big a DWade booster as you're gonna find on this board.

What does this sentence exactly mean? Is it supposed to be understood literally? That Boston can beat Cleveland in the playoffs? Well, of course they can - but that's just stating the obvious. Almost every playoffs team can beat another one - all it's needed are 4 good nights. The C's can beat the Cavs, the Cavs can beat the Cs, the Cavs can beat the Pistons, the Pistons can beat the Cavs, the Bulls can beat the C's, and so on.

Why start a thread to state the uber-obvious? Or are people confident the Celtics will beat the Cavs? That would be worthy of discussion.

Celtics will beat Cavs this year no problem.  Cavs are overrated and are not that as good as media makes them out to be.  Sorry.  Once playoffs start everybody starts running around fast like Lebron so the games will be much more competetive.  Also Cavs outscored Celtics by 4 points in the 2nd and 3rd Qts combined yesterday, how is that a blowout? a 9 minute stretch where you go 27-5 is not a blowout when it starts by Lebron plowing over Rondo on an exact same play where we were called on an offensive foul at home with BBD passing to Perkins that ruined some of our momentum. Celtics win no problem this year.   World Champs Again.

Yeah right it was a blowout.   For the 2nd & 3rd Qts 24 full minutes Cavs outscored Celtics by 4 points.  How is that a blowout?  That's not taking a couple minutes here and a couple minutes there and adding them together.  Its 2 full quarters in a row.  9 minutes isn't a blowout. Especially in a regular season game after your playoff spot is already determined.

I, Titlemaster , believe wholeheartedly that the Boston Celtics can beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in a six game playoff series, regardless of Kevin Garnett being at a full 100%.

Here's why... in six games, we would have shown that we could beat 'em on the road, twice. That's all that's needed. There's no sanctuary in the rust belt.

Their frontcourt is mediocre. Look... I do respect the big Z but c'mon, let's get real. Our bigs are tough: Leon, Perkules, BBD are strong as an ox.

Next, Williams, as talented as he is, as a combo guard, is no match for a rotation involving Starbury, House, Rondo, and Ray Ray. That's way too much depth. Sorry, Delonte.

I'll leave LBJ vis-a-vis PP (back-to-back TAllen) as a draw with an edge towards the young, upcoming King of b-ball.

Finally, if it goes seven, it'll be a Dave Stern/Ref conspiracy finale and that's unacceptable. Hence, it'll be done in six so that the crooks don't fix the closure.
