I'm tired of his antics, hes liek a fat beaver chattering away every 2 seconds.

;D ;D  I watched Rivers throw his own players under the bus (pre-Garnett) and constantly whine about how they never played defense...(Like he was actually teaching them something defensively)  I watch today as his players follow his lead whining about every call.  I like our team and I like Rivers.  But this silliness about VanGundy's act being exclusively his is absurd.  It's a universal axiom.  Coaches do it because it works.  Sort of like players flop because it works.  Both antics suck (IMHO).

I like VanGundy.  Like him or not, he's a [dang]ed good coach.  He lost his all-star PG.  Replaced him with a flake.  His team hasn't missed a beat.  We lost our (should-have-been) all-star PG, replaced him with a flake, and could't win until we got him back.

Not the same case at all. During the time that we lost our almost all-star pg, we were without our all-star PF and half of our bench. Also, our "flake" hadn't played pro ball in over a year. Not comparable at all.

Our team has 3 superstars.  Orlando has one.  Without Garnett, we still have two to their one.

People are desperate for silly reasons not to like Van Gundy.  He's a [dang]ed good coach.

Professor Weinman's thread about a contender being able to insert a late draft choice into the starting lineup and having him thrive speaks well to Van Gundy's system. Like him or not, Van Gundy has been excellent for two different teams.

Just so you know, that blank spot in the subject line was not a replacement for "bad coach".  I think Van Gundy is a good coach.  Doesn't change the fact that he's a _______.  People don't need to be desperate to find reasons not to like him.  He serves them up will regularity.

Who cares what he said?  As a Celtics fan it doesn't upset me at all.  If it offends you, that will just give you more enjoyment when we beat Orlando in the playoffs.

I know a lot of people don't like Donny Marshall too much, so maybe you don't believe him, but I remember him saying that according to a source of his close to the situation, SVG had completely lost his team, and that they just tune him out and play the best they can without listening to him. I don't really know what to make of that, but I do know that if I were one of his players I'd be quick to tune him out just because of how annoying his voice is.

It really doesn't look that way to me.  The team has been extremely consistent, the effort looks good, everyone appears to be listening intently during timeouts.

Yeah, I don't buy that.  And if I remember correctly, I think Marshall was just paraphrasing what Shaq was saying.  I'm sure the players don't hang out with SVG after practice and go clubbing, but a team isn't gonna win 60 games if the coach and players aren't on the same page.
