I'm tired of his antics, hes liek a fat beaver chattering away every 2 seconds.

;D ;D  I watched Rivers throw his own players under the bus (pre-Garnett) and constantly whine about how they never played defense...(Like he was actually teaching them something defensively)  I watch today as his players follow his lead whining about every call.  I like our team and I like Rivers.  But this silliness about VanGundy's act being exclusively his is absurd.  It's a universal axiom.  Coaches do it because it works.  Sort of like players flop because it works.  Both antics suck (IMHO).

I like VanGundy.  Like him or not, he's a [dang]ed good coach.  He lost his all-star PG.  Replaced him with a flake.  His team hasn't missed a beat.  We lost our (should-have-been) all-star PG, replaced him with a flake, and could't win until we got him back.

Not the same case at all. During the time that we lost our almost all-star pg, we were without our all-star PF and half of our bench. Also, our "flake" hadn't played pro ball in over a year. Not comparable at all.

TP for speaking the truth.

Well, it's not just the complaining.  It's the complaining about things that really don't have any bearing on his team, which means it isn't a tactic to get something out of the refs so much as SVG just seems to enjoy being in the spotlight and whining.

How would complaining about NYC's reception of Patrick Ewing benefit his team?  It just fits a pattern of him talking to the media and complaining about anything.

Orlando lost other players to injuries besides Nelson - Pietrus being the most notable case. In our 1st win over them this season they were without most of their backcourt players. Other teams like the Spurs or the Jazz have been more severely hit by injuries than the C's. Or non-playoff teams, like the Bucks, the Clippers, the Wolves or the Warriors. Teams like the Lakers or the Cavs also lost starters and crucial rotation players for extended periods of time, although Boston has arguably been more unlucky.

SVG surely has a point.

I'd agree about Utah which seems to always have half their team injured. But what other team has had almost half their team out at the same time with injuries? We had Mikki Moore playing major min. right away. I'm not saying Celtics injuries are more hurtful then other teams' but it is pretty bad.

This has been a very extreme season in terms of injuries, personally I can't remember a similar one. That's why the Celtics situation isn't particularly notable. What other team? At some point the Knicks had only 7 available players plus Marbury to dress. The C's never had less than 10 players ready to play, I think.

I think at points it has been closer to 8 at times for the C's but I see your point.

Yes. Yes he has. Ever since he left the pron scene he's been a little surly.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I didn't use to think so but he's looked pretty mean-spirited lately. Petty remarks like these after a win are just unnecessary.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
