While Walker is one of those Ainge draft picks that I actually like, I have a difficult time seeing a player - who clearly would have benefitted from another year of college - of his ilk making any kind of significant impact off the Celtic bench next year.
He needs time to mature - a fact his college coach has stated.
Walker is worth keeping. However, any move to count on him off the bench next year will land us in the same predicament Ainge's miscalculations did last summer.
In the meantime, it will be imperative for Ainge to land a cheaper version of Nocioni next summer, especially in light of the continued character problems Tony Allen continues to display. That is, unless Grousbeck lets loose of the checkbook, again something he failed to do last summer.
