Hi everyone.  I really love music, and I am bored at work so I thought of what I think is a nice idea for a thread.

Post your top 5 all time songs 1-5.  People can read them, and if they know those songs, maybe they can post some similar music that you might like.  I really need to fill out my pandora list  ;D

I went with songs and not top 5 bands because some bands have very varying sounds between albums, and you might not like everything by them.  So, here we go:

1.  Johnny Appleseed - The Mescaleros
2.  Hold On - Tom Waits
3.  If I ever Leave this World Alive - Flogging Molly
4.  Whenever you breathe Out, I breathe in - Modest Mouse
5.  Whiskey in the Jar - Thin Lizzy

1) God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
2) The Weight - The Band
3) November Rain - Guns N' Roses
4) No Rain - Blind Melon
5) Bring It On Home To Me - The Animals

1- Here and Now - Luther Vandross
2- A Country Boy Can Survive - Hank Williams Jr.
3- La Grange - ZZ Top
4- The Blues Man - Alan Jackson
5- Endless Love (Luther and Mariah Carey Version)

How's that for an interesting and different mix. That's hard to get down to 5!

Love that song, one of my favourite drum parts of all-time the way ?uestlove breaks down the beat after the third verse... just amazing to think its done by a human not a drum machine.

Firstly welcome to Celticsblog!
Yer, dark was the night is just fantastic, there's basically no song I don't enjoy off it. Blood bank is great aswell, I've listened once or twice so I'll have to make some time to really have a good listen over.

Old-timer here. Could list hundreds, but off the top of my head-

Maybe- the Chantels
When a Man Loves a Woman- Percy Sledge
Friday on my Mind- Easybeats
Brainwashed- the Kinks
Here Comes the Night- Them

Couldn't pick one particular Beatles song, or Phil Spector production, but there are dozens.
