Funny that this is being talked about.  Last night's game Rondo smiled more than I'd seen him possibly ever.

On a different note however, BBD was interviewed on NBA TV last night and he referred to a lineup of Marbury, Ray, Paul, KG, and Perk, as a Dream Team.

Realistically though, when Doc and the big three state openly that Rondo is the most important guy on the team, there leaves little room that Rondo stirs the drink.

Sigh... Baby, careful with your words!  The media is just WAITING for something like that.

Seriously though, that Herald article is TERRIBLE.  It's basically Rondo saying Steph is like Sam while the interview does his best to insinuate things and keep R2 from his fruit!

Did you catch the writer?  Ron Borges.  If he's covering the Celtics now, we can expect a lot more negativity and a lot more of the Herald trying to make itself the story.

rondo is one of those people-difficult to figure out. i give him the benefit of the doubt. max can be pretty annoying.

Why are you giving Rondo the benefit of the doubt and not the other way around?
Does it really even matter whether or not he cusses at maxwell? Maxwell isnt suiting up for us, now is he? I say it doesnt matter, Larry would be proud, no? Big mouth maxwell should shut up, I doubt rondo would 'go off' on him for no reason.
And as far as rondos personality, I dont think hes a troubled kid or a bad ass per say, hes a really good kid and person who is just extremly stubborn and confident, hes definetly an alpha-dog type person

Tubby Smith was an awful coach at Kentucky. Don't let the record fool you. I live SEC country and most Wildcat fans hated "Tubby ball" which is slow down defensive minded basketball. Rondo had no chance there. Tubby tried to mold him into a player he was not.

Marbury is better than Cassell, but Rondo is better than he was last year....

it's right on the money as far as i'm concerned because the same exact questions are being asked of Rondo. "are you worried about your job being taken away?"

Has it occurred to everyone how confident Danny and Doc are with Rondo's mental state? They have brought in point guards two years in a row knowing we need some help there because House is a shooting guard, and yet to do this they have to be CERTAIN that this is not going to hurt there starter emotionally.

Rondo must be very special and its obvious to them. I'll say again that this year if Rajon plays like a hall of famer the rest of the way no one should be surprised. Last year he elevated his game at home late in the year and especially in some key home games: LA comes to mind. This year he is good enough to go to a whole new level. 17 dimes yesterday.

My only concern is I think he will force his outside shot more, just a little. if it starts falling, all heck is gonna break loose.

Yup, he's fought with pretty much every coach he's had. Very stubborn guy. SI had a good article on him that went through some of that.

I remember reading an article on CB last summer that had a quote in it from i believe a celtics front office guy saying the reason they resigned Cassell is because he and ray allen were the only 2 people that Rondo listens to.

I wrote this before and will do so again in case you missed it. I think a lot of people are going to be very surprised how good Rondo is gonig to be. Not how good he already is but how good he will be. The guy has ALL the skills, well except shooting and he will learn that, to be a top flight point for his career. The guy is still learning to play with this team but come on, he gets what he wants on a consistent basis. I am beginning to think he be a perennial all star and actually have a chance to be a hall of fame player. Rondo is probably the most "untouchable" player on this team right now. Remember, when Minny wanted him instead of Gomes Ainge said it was a deal killer meaning he wouldnt have given him up even to get Garnett and that was back then. Rondo will control the playoffs with Marbury doing some very unexpected things too. Barring injury, the addition of Marbury and Moore will put us in the Finals where Kobe will take the series to 7 only to lose again.

Reading this Herald article, I hope it has nothing to do with Marbury, but this kid is like an enigma, he seems so reserved and polite but then you read about his run ins and how he doesn't listen to anybody.

You say Rondo doesn't listen to anybody. I would beg to differ. If you tell him something that he doesn't agree with he will argue with you. But if he is convinced that what he is told is correct he WILL listen. He and Doc have had many run ins, but if Rondo doesn't listen would he be the player he is today? Also, KG is often an intermediary between the two and when the arguments are over things are worked out just fine. This is not unusual and too much is made of it.

A week or so ago Tommy was talking about Rondo and how intelligent he was. I don't remember what brought up the conversation. But one thing that Tommy said was that if you tell Rondo he did something wrong he will ask you to tell him why. I don't see a problem with that and neither did Tommy. Tommy also talked about the problems at Kentucky. My take on Rondo is that he is confident, I think secure in himself, and maybe has a short fuse. I also think he is a very private person and has no patience for irrelevant conversation such as the stuff being said about him being threatened by Marbury being on the team. If this was going to be a problem Marbury would not be here. I'm sure both Danny and Doc spoke with Rondo before doing the Marbury thing.
