A bizarre incident between Rajon Rondo and Celtics radio broadcaster Cedric Maxwell. Rondo had some harsh words for Maxwell as he headed into the showers, and the point guard did not appear to be joking. Definitely some tension in the room.

??? I'm starting to think there is a lot we don't know about Rondo, at least personality wise. I have this strange feeling that they'll be a book or article coming out surrounding an ex-player that'll explain it all though.

Rondo seems way too serious, and Maxwell is a clown. Definitely a volatile mix. I'm curious though.

From the Globe.

Reading this Herald article, I hope it has nothing to do with Marbury, but this kid is like an enigma, he seems so reserved and polite but then you read about his run ins and how he doesn't listen to anybody.

its his confidence, and thats the reason why he's able to tell 3 HOF's what to do. so you can't have your cake and eat it to. you know who else has had brash words for C-Max? Larry Bird! so thats what that means.

Rondo plays with just a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

It's awesome.

Sounds to me like these reporters are trying to make trouble between Rondo and Marbury where there is none.  I mean bringing up that Telfair cost Rondo a scholarship as if that is supposed to make Rondo hate Marbury. ::)  The press is trying to make this whole Marbury thing into a circus.  Someone needs to go Calhoun on Ron Bourgeous. ;D

I agree completely.  If I were Rondo I'd probably get tired of hearing stupid questions about him and Marbury too.

And as far as comparing the situation with Cassell to the one with Marbury being like comparing apples to crab apples, I would have to agree.  When Cassell came in last year, Rondo was a young point trying to prove himself.  This year he is the starting point guard for the NBA champions.  Rondo is much more entrenched in his starting role this year.

Why are you giving Rondo the benefit of the doubt and not the other way around?
Does it really even matter whether or not he cusses at maxwell? Maxwell isnt suiting up for us, now is he? I say it doesnt matter, Larry would be proud, no? Big mouth maxwell should shut up, I doubt rondo would 'go off' on him for no reason.
And as far as rondos personality, I dont think hes a troubled kid or a bad ass per say, hes a really good kid and person who is just extremly stubborn and confident, hes definetly an alpha-dog type person

Rondo has a bit of anti-social in him. Nothing wrong with that, I'm quite the same way and people understand that and we get along. But, people like this are easily annoyed.

With that said, Max probably said some dumb things for Rondo to go off on him.

Yup, he's fought with pretty much every coach he's had. Very stubborn guy. SI had a good article on him that went through some of that.

I'm glad he's cocky, that is a trait you need in your PG. Especially when he's playing with three HoFs.

i hate when reporters don't report but instead editorialize and manufacture.....

It's one thing to ask the question about how Rondo feels about Marbury coming in and any potential changes in his role, but it is another thing entirely to act like there is a problem that Rondo is somehow unwilling to acknowledge...

the fact is that from Rondo's standpoint Marbury coming here is exactly like Cassell coming here in respect to all the yahoos that are once again trying to make it seem like he should worry about his job as the starter.

sure Mar is better than Cassell, but Rondo is better too....so the comparison is actually completely apt....

Funny that this is being talked about.  Last night's game Rondo smiled more than I'd seen him possibly ever.

On a different note however, BBD was interviewed on NBA TV last night and he referred to a lineup of Marbury, Ray, Paul, KG, and Perk, as a Dream Team.

Realistically though, when Doc and the big three state openly that Rondo is the most important guy on the team, there leaves little room that Rondo stirs the drink.
