Wow, Scal fouled out in 5 minutes tonight...big surprise. finding games when Scal was in and the guy he was near didn't score mean nothing. Look, i do not hate scal, but he has no game and you guys cannot fabricate one for him. He shoots 3's like A Walker, has no inside game, and defense is very average....ALL I am saying is POB SHOULD have been played when the C's were up 20-30, early in the season DOC does not play nor develop players. Before the big 3, DOC played 5-6 players, and that was it...now we are paying for his lack of vision with tired worn, injury-prone players (Ray, now KG, Perk...) Get it....rmemeber, nothing personal here, I am a Celtic fan, and it has nothing to do with anyone here! This is just "MY" opinion. I don't expect anyone to straight out agree with me. But I haven't seen anything from either Scal, or Doc's coaching range....

Scal looked pretty good last night, I thought, for someone who has not played in a few weeks. He also seemed like he lost some weight, which would be great.

Look, the verdict is in on POB.  Management obviously gave up on him, concluding that he did not have what it took to succeed in this league.  I was among the most frustrated about his lack of playing time, but it is time to move on.  If he turns out to be a big success with Toronto, I will be the first to cheer him on, and would expect all the POB bashers to start bashing Doc for not giving him a chance here. Because that is what bashers do.

the lengths that some will go to to keep justifying this guy's presence here is mystifying...

danny failed...that's the bottom line.  the offseason signings of both cassell and POB were mistakes that he just traded himself out of.  and if the reports are true that we could have had nocioni for a pile of scrubs/garbage, then danny failed again.

this team isn't built to win 5 years from now...it's built to win NOW.  and a failure to subsidize the bench with any help is magnified because our "aging 3" are one injury away from watching this team turn into a mediocre basketball club.

Woah! I totally missed the end of the end of the Patrick O'Earl era! Boston gave up on him pretty quick. I wonder if Giddens will follow within a year...

This is good. The Celtics must be confident that they will snag 2 dudes to upgrade the bench. This is exciting!! (Even though i'm bummed that the C's lost to Utah last night after trying to force the ball through a gassed Paul Pierce... :( )

Given all the above it is no surprise that Scal is still employed by this team and POB is not. I can't see how anyone can argue in any shape, way or form that POB is a better player, had better stats, or would be more valuable to this team.

POB got on the court when the game had been decided and played against the competition's worst players. Scal played when the game was on the line during important moments and often defended and was defended by one of the best players the other team had to offer. Comparing their stats this year without taking this into consideration is preposterous. Basketball is a game where on court contributions can not always be looked at via stats in a vacuum. Context of those stats and observation are key in determining talent and quality of play. The Scal vs POB argument is the epitome of this thinking.

Would you rather have Posey or Scal?  For me, it's a no-brainer, Posey.  However we are on the hook for Scal's salary so that's who we are stuck with instead.  I also agree with previous poster's assessment that Scalabrine's outside shooting is Walkeresque in nature.  That's not a compliment by the way.
