Raja Bell, hopes up. Andres Nocioni, hopes up. Goodbye POB, hopes up. Will Solomon, hopes down. Joe Smith, hopes up. Calvin Booth, deflated.

If nothing changes on our part, then I'm very disappointed with how today has gone for us. Saving grace is that Cleveland haven't done anything big, yet.

Will Solomon? Why? >:(

He's not as much of a headcase as Starbury.

who wasPOB traded to ?
Toronto for Solomon according to Boston.com

ESPN is confirming that as well, per Hollinger in chat.

I'm literally shaking with excitement.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I would rather opt for the King's autographed Brad Miller jersey, 3 old basketballs and $10 coupon to sizzler that Sacramento was offering.

Will Solomon is a free agent after this year while POB has an option. They just did this because it will be cheaper to cut Solomon in the case of Marbury's exit from NY.

I like this a bit better - Solomon's no world-beater, but he's a scrappy, quick little guy who can play defense and handle the ball.  Since Pruitt, like it or not, still isn't going to get consistent minutes under Doc, Solomon can play some backup 1 and give Eddie more minutes at the 2, which is good.  Plus we now have insurance if Marbury isn't bought out.

It's a non-guaranteed option, meaning that for next year, the deals are essentially the same.  Solomon's deal is slightly lower this season, though.

Yeah, this really does say a ton about what they think of Pruitt.  This basically means that if Marbury doesn't come here, then they don't think Pruitt is good enough to get the job done.

Solomon is a good third string point guard but he has absolutely not role to play on the Celtics roster with an excellent starting point guard in Rondo, a very good backup point guard in Eddie House, and an excellent third string point guard in Gabe Pruitt, all three of whom are better than Solomon.

Is this a sign that the C's are going to use Pruitt as Tony Allen's replacement? The deal just seems off in some way.

I would rather have held onto POB than take this trash PG.

Will be interesting to see if POB gets PT, since they have moved JO.  I still think that Bargnani is a 4 (or even a 3) not a 5.  Who else does Toronto have at that 5??
