So, only a question for those 4+ years in I guess, but how’s your NBA2k9 franchise coming along? (Note: if its not the Celtics starting roster, just post what you started from and where your at.)

Year 2013 for me. Our current roster: (ratings to the right)

PG: Rondo 94
SG: Webster 91
SF: J.Smith 96
PF: M. Booker (draft pick 2011) 81
C: Perkins 84

Bench:

Ray allen 85
F. Ateridies 74 (this years pick, SF, pick #7. Dynamite inside scorer with horrid range but a good shooting animation and A- potential)
JR giddeons 78 (hi TA 2.0!)

Assorted decent backups im not going to list because they’re generated players.

Notable things that have happened-

We won in 2009 and 2010, after that we ran into a very tough Heat team who would eventually win it all (CP3/wade/marion/Beasley is what the heat rock now) and the next year we ran into the new cavs (Mo will/captain Jack/ Lebron/ AK47/ Shaq at 41) who would lose in the championship round. The next two years we sucked as We nursed our cap and waited for a mid 20’s superstar we could snag to go with rondo, and josh smith came along this year.

Also, i should note that i resigned the big three so that they all came off the exact same year (2011) so as to create some massive cap space. predictably, we were awful on sims for the next 2 years, but Josh smith and webster are looking great for us now.

Around the league

-   KG signed with the nets, 2 year deal, his last I think.

-   Paul signed with the nuggets for his last year. (already announced he’s retiring)

-   Ray is done at the end of this year

-   Lebron STILL hasent won anything, despite his all star team in Cleveland

-   The next Kobe/Lebron hype machine is some kid from the second draft I had, he rocks it for GSW. Kids a SG who is untouchable on 7 minute quarters (28 points a night, next closest is 20.)

I sim all but the playoffs now, just to see who ends up where. Any morbid curiosity questions about who ended up where I’ll go in and answer when I get home.

Last night, I saved the Dallas Mavericks. I traded Jason Kidd and Diop for DJ Augistin, Jason Richardson and Emeka Okafor.

Dallas Mavericks Starting 5:

C: okafor
PF: Dirk
SF: Howard
SG: Richardson
PG: Augistin.

Then I turned off the game. The AI in franchise mode bothers me.

yea, this is why i had to use the sliders over at sportsHQ, games far to easy with the normal sliders. I recommnd them to everyone.

Using the sliders i can get a real good game out of the computer at the highest diff levels.

I also missed the playoffs 2 years because i simmied the regular season now. trying to play it as fair as i can.

by the way, my team isn't invincible by any means, but its very good, without a lot of weak points. However, I don't win games on HOF mode by more than 4 or 5 points, like, ever. Anyone else really challenged by that?

I just sim the games.  I drafted a bunch of superstars and made the Bucks the greatest franchise in NBA history.

Just bought the game last night so I could play the association and sim everything.

So this is what happened in 2009

Preseason:  T'wolves offered my Corey Brewer for Eddie House

So losing my 3 point shooter off the bench I traded Sam Casell for Daquean Cook who now at the end of the season is a deadly shooter. This also let me develop Gabe who is now at 84 at the end of the year. Rondo at 88.

The Knicks then offered me David Lee for Patrick O'Bryant.  I was in shock when this was offered to me.  So Lee is now the 6th man.

Also I was offered Mardy Collins for Big Baby which I took, Baby was stuck at the end of the bench and so is Collins but I was stocked at PF so I got a 3rd PG.

So off the bench is

D. Lee
T. Allen
G. Pruit
C. Brewer
D. Cook
L. Powe

We won the title over the Spurs. Rondo was 1st team all defense, KG was 2nd team.

try to beat me in these results
I started with the Bulls
year 2014 heres my lineup

Derek rose 99
Brandon Roy 99
Luol deng 97
Chris Bosh 99
Dwight Howard 99

I didnt cheat at all.
I signed Brandon roy and traded for Bosh and Howard.
I traded for Bosh durin 08-09 season.(Hinrich, hughes and 2 1st round picks for Bosh and Kapono), at one point in my season had a starting lineup of all 99's and a 6th man who was a 91 (Sasa Zagorac...) he grew frustrated so I traded him and Josh Smith for Howard and sasha pavlovic and a 1st rounder which i then packaged with my 1st rounder for the 10th pick in the draft. This gave me my current 6th man 86 overall (PF)Cedric Hughes. easy to say that i simulated whole season went 66-16 and lost one playoff game en route to an easy finals victory. average age is 26 so im set for years to come.

Can't stand this game online sometimes. Might have to start an association again. Too many cheesers online who let the CPU play defense for them, and abuse with either Kobe, Lebron, or JR Smith (sadly).

I'm in my second year with the Thunder.

This is my lineup and player ratings:

Hibbert (82) / S. Williams (78)
Love (87) / B. Wallace (76)
Durant (93) / J. Jones (75)
Ginobili (90) / G. Pruitt (76)
Westbrook (91) / O. Greene (71)

I'm going to build around Westbrook/Durant/Love... they're under control for at least a couple more years on their rookie deals.

The thing is, I'll have to give all three max contracts, so I'll be unable to afford Hibbert - he'll cost me 9 or 10m. So, I'm holding onto him until his expiring year when his rating is highest, and I'll deal him for draft picks. Then, Sean Williams will step into the starting lineup (I'll sign him long term this offseason)... I plan to make Pruitt a starter in the next season or two, as well - I like his defense and 3pt shot. I'll lock him up long term and bring Manu off the bench.

This is what my "big 3" averaged last season:

Durant: 32/6/3
Westbrook: 19/5/7
Love: 14/9/4

We lost in the second round of the playoffs. This season, I've started out red-hot with a combination of simming and playing a few games.. I'm 15-0. I'm going to play the Spurs later on, which is always tough.

i don't sim anything...I play an 84 game season, and I'm only slightly ahead of the regular schedule right now (i can't play as often as I'd like).  But my team is beast.

C-Andrew Bynum/ Alonzo Mourning/ Yi Jianlian
PF-KG/ Yi
SF-Paul Pierce/ Adam Morrison/ Bill Walker
SG-Justin Justice (i made myself)/ Rudy Fernandez
PG-Rondo/Justice/Rudy Fernandez

I've also have 5 first round picks in the next 2 years.

See I like your approach. I like a team with some flaws because it seems more realistic. I had Andrei Biedrins down low, and he was a good scorer/competent defender, but i opted for chandler, because he's a better blocker and rebounder. Can't score for crap though, and I kinda like that about him.

Not too many flaws though.

Kind of a little off topic but does anyone know an easy way to upgrade rosters on the 2k series ?  I have an Xbox 360.  I don't play online.  I just play when I can.  I'd love to update the rosters.  Is there a way to do it by just inserting a usb drive ?  Download the rosters onto a usb stick, then take it to your xbox and load it ? or does it have to be done a certain way ?  like subscribing to " live " ?  Any info would be appreciated .  Thanks-
