Just like i was reading over in the Realgm postings for the knicks someone wrote let me take 500 dollars out of your next check and see how much you enjoy that.. Give the man his money and move on if the Knicks really didn't want this guy then the should just take his 1 million back and buy him out! I really thought the knicks organization was a joke before but now its sad. SO hopefully this pushes them closer to a buy out and he comes to Boston kills NY in his return and wins a championship!!!

Meh... I'll believe it when I see it.  If I'm Donnie Walsh I just hang onto him until the season ends.

The thing is... apparently James Dolan came out last week and said he'd be willing to buy out Marbury if Marbury would take 2 mil less.  That's seriously not enough for Marbury?  I dunno... it doesn't really seem like he's itching to play basketball for a quality team.  We'll see what happens after the trade deadline, I guess.

As long as we are playing well I really hope the Celtics stay away from him. We have Rondo,House,Pruitt, and Casell (who we have been told is being saved). Why get another PG? I would much rather see Marbury go to a team like Dallas, who I believe to be the other team interested in him, then the Celtics. If we do Sign him the whole eddie house playing sg is over. Marbury can not be guarding 6'6'' SG while house guards the PGs. Signing him at the moment does not seem to make a whole lot of sense.

I'll be completely honest... If I was already financially stable and making a "regular guy" amount of money (not even $22 million) sitting around doing nothing, and I wanted to do my job with another organization in the same sector to stick it to the former organization and be successful, I would absolutely take a 9.9% cut on my buyout to make some of it back and be overall in a much happier and more productive environment. So yeah, if that was the amount that was needed to get me out with my check, I would absolutely do it.

What incentive do the Knicks have to move him? He's not with the team, he's just collecting dust and a paycheck and staying out of sight, out of mind with regards to their moderately young impressionable roster. If I'm the Knicks, and he's acting this way, then why the hell would I concern myself with a buyout of the full amount? The Knicks owe him nothing.

If Starbury really wanted to play and improve his situation, he'd take the buyout with the percentage points missing off the top. How many Ferraris does the guy need?

You think Starbury would let Dolan disrespect him like that?

haha I understand that obviously, but what I'm saying is the choice Marbury is giving the Knicks is pay him everything either now so he can go somewhere else and win, or later but banish him to the reserve list. If the Knicks have to pay him either way, why should they let him leave and go pursue success with a hated rival? If Marbury wants a change in the status quo, he should take the initiative to change the options available to the Knicks and accept a little less money.

Time to split the difference guys and give back 1.5 mil. I agree he shouldn't feel inclined to give back 3-4 million, but the difference in 2 and 1...

Stephon has Verbal commitment with Celtics.

But... Knicks management reportively  does not want him to win a championship.  Steph said it's not about money.  It's personal.

I think the selfish knicks. Are starting to see how good of fit he could really be coming off the bench for your World Champion Boston Celtics..  Thoughts.....

scalabrine should help pay the difference...i'd have more respect for him, since he basically stole the first 3 years of his pay... :)

The Knicks would probably prefer to have this scumbag sign with somebody within the division. Addition by subtraction for them and having this idiot within the division tears apart whatever team that is.  Perfect for New York.

There is no way Danny does this.

Come on Jick... The Horse is Dead!!! Scal would have done exactly what he has done the last couple weeks had Doc given him PT and that is to be a very solid role player who plays good D and can hit the open jumper. The guy has done 100% of what has been asked of him. Give the poor guy a break. He is much better than you will ever admit.
