Glenn "Team Killer" Davis scores 5 pts in 13 minutes as the Celtics beat the Raptors!! Davis also had 5 boards.

James "Show Me the Money" Posey scores 2 points in 29 minutes and the Hornets lose to the Knicks, falling to 22-12.  Posey also had 5 rebounds.

Usually the ends up with 70-80% non-contested shots...and usually misses. He can really cotribue if he starts to git those shots on a regular basis. Obviously he believes he can make them. I hope it's just a matter of time, or is it something else?

What baby needs to do is stop jumping when he's taking his midrange jumpers. He should have an Okur-like stroke.

I used to like the Hornets (Byron Sctt notwithstanding) because Chris Paul is so much fun to watch.  But now I root against them so that folks here will stop the incessant whining about Posey's departure.

Come on, Brick.  The Celtics would be better with Posey still here, and I expect you know that and are choosing to be a bit of a contrarian.  The players, management, coaching staff, fans, and commentators all seem to think that Posey's presence is missed, and the statistics bear that out as well.

Big Baby had an Efficiency Rating of 9 vs. the Raptors (clearly a better team than the KKnicks) and the Almighty Posey had an Effficiency Rating of 4 vs. the lowly Knickerbockers at home.

Again...  it's an average.  Do you think the better player outproduces the inferior player every night over an 82 game season?  On November 11, 2008, Anthony Morrow had 37 points.  Paul Pierce had 28.  Clearly, Morrow is better than Pierce.

Come on.

I vote for calling Golden State now.  A similar move with freeloaders like Ray or KG could really open some space for 2010.

Roy,

I'm surprised that you would suggest that the Celtics would have done appreciably better during our ten game dolldrums if we had Posey. We were soundly beaten in most of those games by some mediocre teams because everyone was playing poorly, including the Big 3.  To suggest that things would have been different had we had James Posey during that stretch is fantasy.  TP for you, Brick.

Yep, I'm a contrarian.  I don't think Posey would have added much at all.  They are better off giving Posey's minutes to Tony Allen.  Unfortunately, Allen is hurt.

I think that, until we hit the recent skid, the statistics showed that we weren't missing Posey at all.

Well, last year's team had a skid in med February, too.

Most folks thought they would win fewer games in the regular season this year, not so much due to Posey's absence but because 66 wins is just so hard to achieve.  They're on a pace to win 62, although I expect some losses on the upcoming February trip plus on a shorter stretch of away games in late March.  So 55-60 seems about right.

The real issue is the playoffs. Posey had some big games, and others will have to step up instead.

There are so many guys on here drooling over BBD and how he does the little things and how much Doc must trust him defensively... They say how much better a defender he is than Powe and that he brings more to the table, but then last night when it is crunch time and the game was on the line who was in the ball game at the center spot... Not BBD. Those that think BBD is a better player than Powe are basing their comments on what they think he COULD become, not what he is now. I'd start playing Scal at the center spot over BBD and Powe at the PF spot. Scal showed you last night what a true fundamental defender plays like. It wasn't BBD.
