This is a good way to look ahead to next year as well.  This team looks tired, they look worn out.  If it's true that the reason why they're not playing defense as well or not showing the effort or hustle is because they're tired and worn out...imagine how bad next season is going to be.

well i certainly think the concern is getting bigger...if they look this tired in january what are they going to look like in April and may? for once the bench stepped up and the starters let them down...Anyone else think KG is playing hurt? seems out of sync on offense and defense

POSTGAME NOTE: uh sorry tommy, i cant get behind your pick of rajon as player of the game. his 7 TO's more than offset his  spurt at the end of the third.

I'll take paul pierce myself.

Wasn't it 9 turnovers?

I can't get behind Tommy on that, either.

Over the past 7-10 games, rondo's assists have been very high, but so have his turnovers. Earlier, when he was a legit contender for an all-star spot, he was having 13 assist, 1 TO games. Now? 6 assists, 9 TO's? That's a 2 to 3 assist to turnover ratio.

That doesn't pass in Middle School.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

at this point...what do they have to lose by playing walker and giddens? really....can;t get much worse than losing to the warriors, knicks and bobcats all in one week...

You can always lose more games....

These young guys are not the answer. They are not incredibly gifted players being kept down by iron fisted, dunderheaded management. Danny Ainge is not some dumb ape. Doc is not an irrational idiot. These guys are not playing for a reason. I don't know what that reason is, but trust me, there is one.

Attention everyone advocating for the young guys/D-Leaguers:

The Celtics management and coaching staff know things you don't know about players, work ethic, skills, attitudes, and BASKETBALL IN GENERAL.

I am sure they do. Lets hope Garnett or Allen doent take a season ending injury during this stretch.

When was the last time that a team that was dead last in  turnovers won the championship?

dunno, but we were close last year.

We always turn the ball over an annoying amount. I again theroize some of it has to do with our being a team that passes more per possession than most.

(side note: coincidence that our TO's per game are actualy down 3-4 during this slump but so is our ball movement and assists?)

Maybe some practice here and there would help...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Is it chemistry? A more serious injury than we're being told? Reffing? A bad week or so that all team go through? All of the above?

What I'm hoping is that this team is going through a phase where they play down to the competition, but have been unfortunate in losing those games, and that they play like true champions against the good teams.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow and Friday.

Last year we didn't see this because they wanted to make a statement throughout the entire season.  This season is a little different.

but they haven't been playing up to their competition either....portland and the lakers are the only 2 good teams they played of late and they struggled against them....the schedule for boston gets no easier in the next few weeks...the cavs, magic, pistons, mavs, suns...real meat grinder...

Clearly this is an excellent time to be struggling and tired.

I say we foresake defense entirely and play like the Knicks.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

This could be what they need though.  Notice how this slide is coming against bad teams?  They may need these good teams so that their intensity picks up and they actually get excited for a game.

look at the bright side of things, at least we played the bobcats tonight and not the Thunder, who as of right now are probably playing better basketball than the celtics

No kidding I'm glad we played the Thunder earlier in the season  ;D. Seriously they're playing better they've given Cleveland, Phoenix, Detroit, Denver and San Antonio scares recently. Just having problems down the stretch like we are.
