Nora:
Why didn't we play perk at the end of games last year? Because we could put a line up out at the end of games that was a more challenging cover? Basketball is about match ups, regardless of what I feel about Bynum he's the third best player on the team. He does a lot of the same things that gasol does. That's why it makes more sense to put shooters around the court, and the last thing Kobe needs at the end of games is another guy on the block occupying space. The same way we would put Eddie House in at the end of games instead of Rondo, or Cassell for that matter. If Bynum was on a different team, that wasn't as stacked as the lakers I have no doubt that he would be killing and his numbers support my argument.
Tattered on my sleeve:
Yeah spinning moves never help people. Agility and gracefulness and being huge is what ruined the careers of Hakeem, Ewing and my all time favorite center Sabonis.
Really, I am more than interested for somebody to put up a reasonable argument as to why Bynum sucks. I don't know about these reports about him not playing defense, he plays hard. He misses rotations and he picks up stupid fouls but what 21 year old center doesn't. The fact that irrational los angelesites think he's the second coming should be irrelevant to a basketball fan. I can say I hate the guy because he's a laker but I was always of the school of thought of giving a man credit when credit is deserved, regardless.
