I thought this thread was asking about "PLAYERS"on the Celtics. So far ive read one bugger aganist Doc and one binkie for Doc.Isn't it a little early in the season to bring Doc into this? ;D...believe me we will read a lot of stuff about Doc (good and bad)before this season is over but i wish we could keep him out of it when not necessary.

I answered my question as anything related to Celtics. Doc might be a coach but he is a player in that he plays a part in this team.

Binkies:

Players that get unreasonably criticized, often with misleading and/or inaccurate facts. Why I often end up defending Tony and Ray, even though I don't care for them more than anyone else on the team (well, I really love Ray).

Buggers:

Players that are some poster's binkies. Why I often end up criticizing Rondo and Powe, even though I really like them.

This thread rocks socks so I'm going to throw in my two cents (JSAAD's relationship thread was def. better though...sorry that's my opinion)

Binkies!

KG: why?... Just google image search "Kevin Garnett Intense"
Rondo: why?... Fast, defense, 'fake around-the-back, gliding to the hoop for the finish'
Powe: why?... all the other posts, read them... also he's just so mature and he shows it and that's something we can all look up to.
Pierce: rookie year was also the year i started religiously watching the celtics, so my reasons are obvious.

Past: ricky davis, eric williams, tony battie, jr bremer
Future: i predict bill walker some day.....

Annoying worthless pieces of poop:
perk, scalabrine.

past: kedrick brown (underachiever extraordinaire), antoine, rick patheticino

I'm biased against Sam Cassell.

My binkies are Garnett (sometimes he reminds me so much of Russell that my eyes get misty) and young players who hustle, e.g Powe and BBD.  I want to see them succeed.  Even when guys like that are no longer Celtics I root for them (e.g. Delonte West).

TP to you Sir... your point well taken.I did not intend to offend anyone but from viewing this blog from afar last season i noticed there were its share of Doc attacks and some good stuff too.I expected to see a few Doc attacks after his name surfaced.

Rondo can do no wrong in my eyes.  I'm hard on Scal but I don't think that's being biased it's just because he's an awful basketball player.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

"To the OP of this thread"will you take a count on the binkies and buggers by player? And if the player who has the most binkies win a free trip to lets say the Carribean in the offseason and the player with most buggers win a free  plane ticket out of Boston? ;D

From spending a lot of time on this blog, it's become clear that certain posters have their "binkies", while other players consistently draw the scorn of certain members.  I was curious to see how candid people would be about their irrational support / criticism of certain players.

I'll go first:

Binkies:

Ray Allen -- I'm defensive of Ray, because I think he's a lot better than people give him credit for.  He's a star-quality player who has taken a backseat for the good of the team.  He also has a beautiful stroke to watch.

Leon Powe -- I love the way he hustles, and the way he's consistently and constantly produced when in the game.  It doesn't hurt that certain people used to downplay Powe's contribution to boost BBD's.

I of course love the rest of the starters, and most of the other players, as well.  (At times, Eddie House approaches binky-status, because I like him more than his production warrants.)

Totally agree on the first two, Leon and Ray (despite my desire to trade him - wink) are two guys that I just flat out love to support.

As for who am I biased against.......I would have to say Scal only because he's taking up more than his "fair share" of room on the cap and I have to admit Paul Pierce has driven me bonkers over the years, with his "when the going gets tough, Paul gets going" approach.  With that said, the man in the Finals MVP.

TP for the bravery, saying something negative about the Captain.  I like Pierce a lot, but the some of his comments hinting at a trade demand rubbed me the wrong way at the time.  Still, I'm a big fan, but I understand why other people would carry a very slight grudge.

I haven't read all of the posts, but for me, Ray Allen can do no wrong. He's a consummate professional, you know he gives everything he's got, and he's got extremely high b-ball IQ. If he has a bad game (or a bad stretch of games), so be it. And he's a genuinely nice guy.

I don't think I'm really "biased against" anyone, but I'm probably most critical of Rondo (despite the fact that I LOVE him). First, because he's clearly got tons of undeveloped talent and potential (e.g., he can absolutely fix that jumpshot). And second, I am/was PG myself and it's easy for me to see the young mistakes that he makes. I'm not saying I could do better myself (not even close), but I know enough about the position to see his flaws - all of which I'm confident he'll improve upon with time.
