Tony Allen -- Candidly, I don't like his semi-thuggish background

Overblown!  Not his fault!  World out to get him!

-sw

So, should I just go and put TA under the binky category for you, Steve?  You are his biggest fan.

Yeah, that's me.  Proud sponsor of all things Tony Allen and all entities Oklahoma State University.  A mutual feeling, I suspect.

 ;)

-sw

Yes, I'm a big fan of OSU's admissions staff.  Should I ever choose to go back to school, they'll get strong consideration.

Odd that you mention that.  I've explained some pleasantries with them myself.  Or something to that effect.

Love:

Bill Walker - I grew up a big K-State fan and when the Cs passed on him in the first round I went nuts.  When they traded for him I went nuts, but in a good way.

Leon - Great story, great attitude, and gets it done with limited physical skills (short, bad knees).

Delonte - god I miss him.

Biased:

Perk - I just get so angry when he drops the ball down to his knees before he goes up with the ball.

BBD - I will continually get angry with him until he can dunk and not tackle someone (and getting an offensive foul called) trying to set a pick.

TA - I just dont trust him with the ball.  To me, he never seems in control.

Scal - I dont know if I need to say anything.

Binky:

Tony Allen: Way better of a player than people give him credit for, if you read the way he's described on this blog you'd think he was one of the worst players on the team.

Leon Powe: he should be on everybodys binky list, if you complaining about him you should take a closer look at what your saying.

Ray Allen: could have the worst shooting night of his life, but he would still command the defense to respect him. he allows the spacing of the floor to allow KG, Paul to do what they have to, cuase if you do sag off him to double somebody... well his bad shooting nights gonna turn into a good shooting night

quickblink just posted...and i feel the same way about walker. didn't grow up a kstate fan but i followed him and love him as well.

and i don't really have anyone that i based against. it was perk up until the halfway point of last year where i really opened my eyes to what he does for this team with him just BEING on the court.

Binkies:

  • Kevin Garnett - My favorite non-Celtic of all-time became a Celtic and helped us to championship 17.
  • Ray Allen - Loved his jump shot for over a decade and off the court he is a model pro. Pure class.
  • Paul Pierce - I shouldn't have to explain this one.
  • Rondo, Perk, Powe, House - For stepping up when needed and being nice guys.
  • Tony Allen - Because I love his game when he's on form and because everyone gives him a hard time - let the arguments commence.

Buggers:

  • Brian Scalabrine - He brings nothing to the table. Awful player, just terrible.
  • Glen Davis - Love his hustle, hate his size and hate his hype.

Binkie- Leon.  I love the guy!
Bugger- Perk.  He always has his game face on, but he goes through stretches where he just doesn't rebound.  I'd like him to bring his A-game more often.  He was awesome in Houston where he had all those guests watching.
Doc- when he plays Scal.  But not Scal himself, because he sucks and he can't help it.
Everyone else I just consider it "player being player", like "manny being manny"

Binkies
Paul Pierce: He is/was the best player of my generation. I had tears coming out of my eyes during the ring ceremony because he finally got to the mountaintop after slipping and sliding. He shows a "human" quality in that he is not your typically perfect star.

Ray Allen: Classy fellow.

KG: His intensity is infectious.

Perk/Rondo: I'm relishing the opportunity to watch them grow.

Brian Scalabrine: He's a team player, doesn't complain, and tries hard. Besides, I really hate that chant.

Buggers
Tony Allen: My blood pressure goes up everytime he drives the ball. In fact, my blood pressure is going up right now. Moving on..

Big Baby: Just a mess.

Patrick O'Bryant: Lazy when he came into the league, lazy now.

In recent celts history, I used to get SOOO mad at Antoine's shot selection and number of shot attempts when he shot such a low percentage. And of cours Mark O'Blount.

Binkies

Doc Rivers - okay, so we are being honest, so I guess that means if I didn't list Doc under the binkies I would probably lose any credibility I have at this site, which probably isn't a lot to begin with. I just think that Doc wasn't nearly as bad a coach as most were saying because of the extremely young flotsam and jetsam he was given to work with for so many year. I defended him at length because I thought he had what it took to motivate and manage people to a championship. I'll admit he wasn't the best x's and o's guy or great with rotations but since the Cleveland series ended, I think Doc has upgraded in those areas immensely and is now maybe one of the better coaches in the league.

Rajon Rondo - since he has come on board with this team I have pushed for him and rooted for him and praised him endlessly. There were times his rookie season and at points real early last year where it seemed that MikeDfromNP and I were the only two guys behind Rondo. He has vindicated my trust in him and his game. He's young, he's tough, he's intelligent, and he has just the right amount of cockiness you want in a defense and passing first type of PG. He'll be First Team All Defense this year if people take their heads out of their butts and don't give it to CP3 simply because he's popular. He'll be an All-Star by the 2011 year at the latest, most probably next year.

Glen Davis - if there was ever a player that I could say was just a larger version of me, it's BBD. I have a little weight on me. I don't do a heck of a lot on the floor great. At times I look like the prototypical football player trying to play basketball. But I'll rough you up. You will know I played defense against you. And I will be all over the place and do the stuff some other true basketball players won't do in a game of pickup basketball. But I also see a bunch of potential in this kid. His shot is better than his success rate thus far this year. His defense is very good considering most nights he's giving up anywhere between 3-8 inches in height. And he does a good job boxing out(a lost skill nowadays) and getting up and down the court.

Buggers

Tony Allen - you said be honest so once again if I didn't put Tony down I'd be lying. I hate his game. He is in his fifth year as a professional basketball player in the NBA and he still dribbling the ball off his foot at least twice to three times a week. He still is very easy to get into the air on a head fake before shooting. He still goes to the basket without abandon and at least a third of the time forces up the shot rather than finding an outlet if there's nothing there. He still has an abysmal shot from outside of 15 feet. I really hoped, wished and prayed he wouldn't be back. Alas, I guess I have to cheer him on for another two seasons.

Antoine Walker - whenever I see an Antoine Walker thread it's like someone just slapped me and I need to retaliate with a punch to their head. I wasn't a huge Antoine fan when he was here. I thought he was a colossal waste of potential and the constant erosion in his game from his third season on drove me nuts. I just would prefer if this site could ban Antoine Walker talk like they do politics.

Gerald Green - see Antoine Walker.

Tom Thibodeau's schemes and defense - it's not his schemes and defense. Most of this defense is the same defense that was being run before Coach T got here. It was just being run incompetently by bad defensive players. Coach T has added a wrinkle here and there and is a much better defensive coach than is Doc Rivers, hence a perfect melding of skills, but even Danny Ainge admitted on WEEI that the defense and its schemes are Doc's, who I think stole and/or borrowed from Pat Reilly and Jeff Van Gundy style defense and mixed with a tad of Mike Fratello's defense.

Sam Cassell - last year when he was signed he was my binkie. He's now a bugger after making me look like a complete idiot for backing him. I hope he never has to play another game for this team.
