That being said, if the referee sees a penalty tehre he has to give the red card. No other way around it.

Agreed...  officials should call the play as they see it.  As you may know, in England the referees are generally given the right to rescind red cards after the fact.  Maybe UEFA could look into that.  If the potential for scandal is too great, there's a possibility for limited instant replay.  Or, you can take the current approach, and say that poor calls even out over time.

I just hate seeing an innocent player miss the Final.

As a Barça fan I have no problem with Darren playing.  

The problems I see with instant replays are two:

1) It would slow down the game and there's already enough guys laying on the pitch for too long during any regular game. I have never understood how a rule can not be implemented for which when a player lays on the floor for 1 minute for any reason he is not automatically banned from reentering the pitch for let's say 2-3 mins. We must assume a guy "dying" on the pitch is hurt, right? So why do they ask to come in 2 seconds later after wasting 1-2 mintues?

2) It could only be used to determine if a ball had entered or not because on too many occasions we can't even agree on a decision amongst ourselves. Not to mention the problematic of having to discuss if a certain play was a penalty/red card/offside with the other team claiming the ball came already from an already mistaken decision by the referee such as a foul not awarded 60m away 30s earlier...

I'm not going through all your posts, but we both know that you don't like United and have said things in the past the undermines them. Comparing them to Real Madrid for one when they are nothing like Real Madrid. When the British Royalty offer to pay off United debts, then you may have a case. Otherwise, Real Madrid are a horrible team with no morals.

That's not the comparison Roy Hobbs made though. And Real Madrid sold some real estate to the Madrid municipality, it's not like they got free money. But that's beyond the point: the discussion was about the "holier than thou" attitude from Manchester fans about transfers fees, salaries, . I've proven it was a misconception; unfortunately, not a single Manchester fan was humble enough to admit it.

Look, it's well-known that for many (not all) Manchester United fans their club can do no wrong and it's above any kind of mistake. They're like the Kobe fans of football. That's probably why people like me can be labelled haters: for stating the fact that when it comes to those aspects, there's no substantial difference between Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Very honestly, I'm not a little bit anti-United. It's just that I don't like to see fictional narratives or baseless accusations to other clubs or players or pretending that ManUtd players don't have classless attitudes on the field, like all the others.

I agree with you about the officiating mistakes. And sure, swings and roundabouts. I'm just hoping that if the Final the ref misses to call a couple of penalties on United's favour and they end losing the game with a last minute shot from Barcelona, Man Utd fans come here and put the blame on the lack of mental strength from their players.

Anyway, the simple fact that after the incredibly bad officiating in Stamford Bridge yesterday, UEFA officials are more worried about a single call on Tuesday that, by coincidence, was against Manchester United. Quite telling.

I used the phrase mental strength because that's what it was. A breakdown with one more guy on the pitch. You may claim to not hate Man U, but you definitely seem to hate ManU fans at least.

My club is what it is because we have an unique kind of winning mentality, that allows us to compete with teams with much bigger budgets and to completely dominate teams with similar budgets to ours. And before having that winning mentality, we used to suck and make excuses.

And I don't hate anybody, I just dislike nonsensical statements. I don't discuss people, just things that people or groups say or sustain. People are over-sensitive these days. How can one who refutes a theory that it's wrong be labeled a hater for doing so?

If people want to keep arguing about the alleged differences between Manchester and Real when it comes to transfers, salaries, players from their youth teams, etc, let's do it. But, so far, after my reply, everything that happened was that I got the fame of being a United hater. Go figure...

The reaction of most of the crowd was anything but funny. The King is the Head of State and represents the unity of Spain as a country, so like it or not respect is due.

No truth to the Guardiola rumour. He just declared the other day he is having the time of his life these days.
