Frankly I don't care if he had 1 or 5.
If you are out at 3 am and have had some liquor find someone to drive, call a [dang] cab. Don't drive as if laws do not apply to you. That is how people get killed.

I'm p---ed. He's not 19. He's a champion, MVP, a dad, a Celtic. What he did was foolish! There is no excusing that.

the state of nevada disagrees with you, what with the no arrest and not blowing a positive on teh breathalizer. the laws were applied to him, and he was on the correct side fo them.

Erratic driving at 3am....had some boos, gets pulled over...doesn't cooperate with the police.... That's just so great that some of you are excusing that type of behavior!

People have gotten warned or banned for making posts of a much less trouble-making nature than this one. It goes well beyond the boundries of expressing one's opinion and forays into the realm of a personal attack on Pierce and those who would protect his name

Where's the equity?

This is an obvious troll post made strictly with the intent of stirring up trouble.

And in mrsnumba17's other post, he/she called Pierce a "disgrace" and made the offensively reductive statement that "one day Pierce is holding the finals MVP trophy, the next day he was in handcuffs" as if Pierce simply won the trophy and then promptly embarked on a two-month crime spree, knocking over banks, turning tricks in seedy parking lots and kicking nuns in the teeth. A word like "disgrace" applies to behavior like that, NOT to a guy who got pulled over in vegas and sent on his way.

A "disgrace"..."inexcusable"..."Don't drive as if the laws do not apply to you." Here's a news flash: HE DIDN'T BREAK THE LAW! If he had, the cops wouldn't have let him go!

Should MrsNumba17 be banned or warned for this sort of blatant, trollish propagating?

Once again, for the record: Pierce broke NO laws. He passed all 3 field tests. He was under the legal limit (and for all he know we wasn't even close to it).

Proof that Pierce is responsible: It was 3:30 Am IN VEGAS and he wasn't drunk. Do you have any idea how big a statement that is?

Further proof: HE WON US A CHAMPIONSHIP! you think he didn't go out on the town once or twice during the season? Of course he did. But he never got in trouble and he never hurt the team. That's the kind of guy Pierce is. Nothing has changed.

How sure are we that this even happened. it was reported by TMZ!!!!

He changed lanes without signaling when there probably wasn't another car near him. He wasn't swerving into oncoming traffic.

I don't put on my turn signal when I turn into my driveway. That doesn't mean that I'm driving like the laws don't apply to me or endangering lives.

I see Paul's offseason ending the way Jesse Spanow's addiction to caffiene pills ended.

Paul will be in his bedroom yelling random words like, "Ubuntu, MVP, Paul Pierce, Wheelchair, Anything is Possible, Chamionship DVD, Vomit, Duck Tours, Cigar, Letterman, Better than Kobe, Sherman Douglas, Gino, Gino, Gino"!

Garnett, who climbed up to his bedroom window via an oak tree, puts a massive bear hug on him until Paul starts crying, "I'm so scared", "I'm so scared".

I would hope to get a better accurate report on what happened before I make my assessment.

But today's society journalism and reporting really isn't all that accurate...who knows what really happened because we all know there are dishonest cops out there and they could write up anything they wanted.

But from what has been reported thus far it seems that the cops were trying to cover their @sses saying PP was "driving erratically" and then saying he didn't signal when changing lanes. I mean wth? Do you guys drive in Boston or on I-95? 128? 93? Do you know how many ppl do not signal when they change lanes? I mean it happens ALL the FREAKING time.

Anyways then the cops say they "smell alcohol from his car" and then "on his breath" and then they do a series of tests which he passes all...interesting.

They obviously couldn't find anything wrong with him so he was cited, warned, or arrested.

Basically they stopped him because they made a mistake.

He DID break 2 laws! He committed a simple traffic violation, and he was nasty nasty and uncooperative enough with the cops that they had to handcuff the guy.

What a sad state of affairs that so many people think he was in the right in this situation. While he didn't pull a Kobe and "allegedly" rape anyone, he sure wasn't being responsible. Here's to pushing for a no tolerance law. If you don't agree with that stance then you are obviously not a parent or are too selfish to give a crap about anyone else's safety.

Man this kind of stuff makes me ill. He's an adult who was out in Vagas after 3am. Most everyone in Vagas is out after 3 am. He passed all his sobrity tests. If I had to guess, I'm going with the DWB idea. Let's face it, he a black man driving a BMW and prehaps was not as polite as the police might have liked. I have a feeling when they realized who he was they desided it was best to let him go. That whole " we had to handcuff him because he's a big guy" sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I believe when the police handcuff you it's because they are planning on arresting you. I personally would become much more agitated if I were handcuffed. I don't find it soothing at all. Something about this whole thing feels wrong. I think any one who has been pulled over for DWB can see a pattern here.

1.  Being "nasty" isn't against the law.
2.  Switching lanes without signalling is against the law, I concede.  If you think it's enough to condemn a man...

The only thing "obvious" is that someone disagrees with you.  It has nothing to do with being a parent.

Man EJ let it go.  You're getting sillier and sillier by the post.  Your heart is in the right place but you picked the wrong argument and your points are thinner than a supermodel.

talk about mountainous mole-hills....

The legal limit of .08 is really really low.  Two glasses of wine at dinner will push most over that limit.  I myself have blown 1.0 after one beer on one of things that a buddy of mine had.

Pierce, tested 3 times, was found to be under the legal limit.  This is a non-issue.

As someone who's been a parent for the last 20 years I'll disagree with your stance. It's ridiculous. No driving after any drinking? If you're going to do that, make sure you ban everything that causes more problems than having a drink or two and then driving. Obviously, no driving in bad weather conditions such as rain or snow. No driving when under any medication, when even slightly ill, when tired, when eating, drinking or using a phone, and no driving with kids in the car. Most of those things are at least as likely to cause an issue as having one or two drinks and then driving.

With PP I see a pattern here so I don't understand why so many of you are excusing it.  He should know better.  Being put in handcuffs?  Are you kidding me!  If he was belligerant enough to be put into handcuffs, there is an attitude problem here.

If I'm stopped by the cops for any reason, its yes sir no sir what can I do to kiss your ass sir.  How hard is that to learn?  He's 29?  30?  31?  He's been around the block and should know better.

That is unless he likes to continue to show his arse because he's the best BB player in the world.  Paul - the celebration time is over.  Get back to training.

Soooo it's Paul's fault for not being subservient to the police?  Who does he think he is, a citizen?
